NiteStar56
Does Octavia's mallet not damage Necramech Guardian in the isolation vaults now? Just did a run and it did not damage the Necramech Guardian at all.

NiteStar56
Just tried again and yes. Used first, fourth and third ability on Octavia and again did not damage the necramech guardian at all. Worked fine yesterday.
mkah_mvet
not sure if it's intentional, wasn't in the patch notes, but this isn't the first time I've heard it reported. Considering iso vaults are practically unplayable right now (2 runs in a row completely broke for me) who freaking knows at this point.

Graavarg
I suspect it is intended. My theory is that by forcing players to do 3 X Isolation Vaults first in order to be able to start the Arcana Isolation Vaults, and since you can skip the vault/escort phase and only kill the Necramechs before advancing to next tier, DE felt they needed to make Necramechs less easily killed. So that they at least felt like minibosses or something. Otherwise it would be a bit too obvious that the Isolation Vaults triple missions was used only to slow down access to the new arcanes & weapons parts. And many "soloists" have been using Octavia (for good reasons). Without even having to fight the Necramecs actively a bit to kill them, it would just feel like mindless slog (that it actually is, when you don't need anything from the missions anymore). To actually start the bounties rewarding you with the new weapon parts/arcanes you have to: get 1st vault mission from mommy, gather gibbets, wait while "cooking", open door, wait "while toxic", run to vault, kill necramech, go to the surface, start next mission, gather gibbets, wait while "cooking", open door, wait "while toxic", run to vault, kill 2 necramechs, go to the surface, start next mission, gather gibbets, wait while "cooking", open door, wait "while toxic", run to vault, kill 3 necramechs, go to the surface... ... and then you can actually start the bounty possibly giving you parts for the new weapons (and new arcanes). "Oh... This looks fun."

The mallet DOES, however, absorb damage from the mech's "grenade spam" ability

That looks like a load of crap, seriously DE stop hiding the bounties behind a time gated mission just let us do the damn bounties, I play solo, if I do manage to drag some clannies along they do make good enemy distractions but yeah 99% of the time I'm always solo. Franckh
it became a purge the isolation missions, it was not glorious but at least it was done solo so we could not "waste too much time" there with the fact that Octavia became completely useless on them, it becomes long and ultra punitive fights, in short it does not make you want to anymore, some will tell me to go there in a group, ok but I don't want to be mean let's be clear, but 90% of the time you go with people who don't are not really useful, that's a fact, so in the end it's worse. I admit it was a little too simple but going from one extreme to the other ... I managed to finish the T1 / T2 / T3 solo after a lot of hard work and with a life remaining but sincerely I do not I don't want to go back there too, it's a fact
Aadi880
For those unable to cheese ISO vaults with Octavia anymore... Use Nyx + Assimilate. You can now oneshot any mech. Its even easier if you use Stropha.
