Infested mass bossmon concept

I had an idea around the concept of infested mass being both alive and carry some degree of intelligence no matter the size or form. This is by no means thought through, merely meant to inspire and maybe cause a bit of debate.

What if a boss started out as a huge infested mass (almost like a junk slime with occational tentacle) and every time it got hit by a base status proc it would react to them. It would possibly recide in an arena-like infested junkyard with biomass everywhere.

  • Slash proc: The enemy would try to divide and two now nimbler entities would attack in a new way with more dodging tactics. further slash procs would divide them into smaller and faster entities yet again.
  • Impact proc: The enemy would jump back and try to either find some corpus tech to convert itself to an amalgam hybrid or search out more infested biomass in the area to increase it's size and thereby become less affected by impact damage and impact procs.
  • Puncture proc: Either call reinforcements to ambush swarm you or try to use the environment against you (throw stuff at you from afar, make stuff fall into the arena and the fight less easy to navigate.

In several stages it will try to run away to secure that some infested mass makes it out and survive. Forcing the tenno to break through debrys to follow the escaping entities while other entities would try to stall you.

In the end as long as there is infested mass remaining, the fight isn't over. Although the mass slowly gets depleted by ability uses of the enemy and incoming damage to tissue, it will be a fight that can become overwhelming by sheer number of enemies, mass recovery or part of it escapes and containment failed.

Any ideas to improve upon this?

A: DE way to lazy to make something this complex.
B: if we know anything, DE follows a pattern with open world grand bosses, 4 phase fights that revolve around a specific weapon type, then weak points, then finally the last push to kill.
