Starting in Archwing on Uranus Tileset breaks when using Melee Only

While farming Tyl Rigor on the Uranus tileset, whenever we start in Archwing underwater at the entry tile while wielding only a melee weapon, something breaks and I am unable to use my melee weapon nor roll using shift double tap. It breaks Vacuum as well and prevents my Carrier from picking up items. This doesn't happen when starting on the entry tile where you start not in Archwing. 

EDIT: Starting in the Archwing mode and switching to melee in the water first doesn't break anything and I can use my melee weapon and roll just fine.
