Please consider removing unwanted gamemodes from the game.

Defection (in this case) and Infested Salvage are probably the worst and mostly unwanted gamemodes in this entire game.

Not just having barely any squad running these type of missions (even when there are some items to get as of invasions or alert related stuff), no, it is also about the bugs which are hell a lot annoying.

In this example, the AI got stuck right at the spawn area for more than 5 minutes. His 2 other team mates made it, while he kept running against the railing (probably of the bad mesh hitbox design since 2014, eh?) and the infested wasn't even able to kill him, because they had another flawed thing on them: Worst pathfinding ever paired with LoS annoyance.

It took me 7 minutes to finish the last group, just because of this individual not moving and not dying fast enough.

 

You guys are scripting stuff like the AI on rescue missions teleporting towards the player's new destination, if a threshold has been met - which is sure convenient rushing the mission, even when the NPC got downed, you can still successfully finish the mission ... duh, or having our pets teleport weirdly around during operation orphix ... which is not convenient as it is causing issues while trying to locate the current static position of the downed pet, but in this case, how about teleporting the entire crew to the next healing pillar instead of letting them walk around, often weirdly taking a longer route than the other deceivers for whatever reason and still having the worst pathfinding in terms of not getting stuck anywhere since their release?

Or simply removing this mode? Thanks.

 

 

TL;DR

Remove Deception like you did with the missiontype "Deception" from 2016, as it was "abused" for focus farming. When considering removing or changing stuff in games because of being "meta" *limbo cough* then also remove stuff which are way below the actual "gets used" line, as no one wants to waste their time on these missiontypes.

Defection can be quite good and smooth if people actually coordinate and SPLIT UP... which they have never done since this was an event, so.. yeah, it's broken.
On the bugs though, wierdly enough defection worked MUCH better during the event and that pathfinding issue happened YEARS later, that needs fixing badly.

Infested salvage is the only source of some nidus part I think, the mission exists exclusively for that and as far as I'm aware has never been actually liked by anyone, so some redesign needs to happen there, not quite sure what though.

It's useful for farming other drops too since there's a constant flow of enemies and the 1 flatter map is pretty compact for nicely ranged abilities.
