The 2 most used Primary & Secondary weapons have very low Riven Dispo, but the 2 most used Melee have almost neutral dispo:

Primary:

Ignis Wraith 10.18% Dispo 0.55

Kuva Bramma 8.32% Dispo 0.6

Secondary:

Kuva Nukor 15.65% Dispo 0.50

Catchmoon 8.01% Dispo 0.50

Melee:

Broken War 6.09% Dispo 1.10

Skiajati 5.96% Riven Dispo 0.90

First the difference in usage % is noticeable.  Even the most used melee is still 2 whole % behind the second most used primary or secondary.

Second those two are only top used likely because they are quest melee weapons so everyone who has gotten through those quests has them and has used them. Notice how Broken war is used slightly more than Skiajati and you get Broken War earlier in the quest line.

Because DE does not base the disposition purely on usage ,

They have said they have an internal power calculation as well. So the disposition can be quite arbitrary.

On top of that, those two melee weapons are available for free and are quite good for their class ,

The difference is usage is also not as large as for the guns.

... Someone has learned to compare onions with potatoes and carrots... Congratulations.

... Now, between those, what exactly makes them the same so that your comparison actually begins to make sense?

As others have mentioned. They judge disposition based on usage and actual gameplay effects. Those weapons may be popular, but they are not as “game breaking” compared to other options. Broken War and Skiajati are mostly used by new players because those two are available early game.
