A traveler from far beyond the Void, Polaris harnesses the fundamental forces of Gravity, altering the mass of himself and his foes to take command of the battlefield. Capable of altering the physics of the world around him, he can both fling wide swaths of enemies out of their own control and combine this with his own clever use of maneuvering to navigate potentially undetected or far from danger.

Whether he treads lightly or enforces his mass, Polaris can apply his powers to any number of situations.

Abilities

Polaris’ kit focuses on altering the direction and strength of gravity to give himself superior mobility and defense, and to render his foes vulnerable. He can provide his allies ample openings as well as potential footholds for easier navigation around maps.

Passive – His manipulation of gravity makes his aim glide keep him perfectly level in midair, as well as allowing him to maneuver in midair 50% faster.

Gravity Wave – Polaris throws out a wave of force in front of him, subjecting any targets hit, and potentially himself, to a gravitational shift to the targeted surface.

  • 25 energy cost.
  • Enemies hit by the wave are suspended in midair until the wave hits a wall, ceiling, or floor.
    • Upon hitting one of these planes, all enemies who were hit will rapidly be slammed into the surface, dealing impact damage and knocking them down for an extended period.
    • For a limited duration, they will also treat the surface they were slammed against as the ‘floor’, causing enemies to potentially get stuck on walls or ceilings.
    • Enemies remain affected by this gravity for 5 seconds (extended with Ability Duration).
  • If Polaris holds the activation of Gravity Wave until it hits a surface, he will change his own gravity to match the hit surface as well, and performs an extra damage slam attack in the process. After doing this, he’s rendered immune to all knockback and knockdown for 10 seconds.
  • Polaris can reset his gravity to normal by bullet jumping.
  • Polaris can cause all enemies affected by the Gravity Wave to be reset to normal gravity with a heavy slam (dealing more impact damage) if he re-activates the ability while he’s sending out a wave. This will also reset Polaris’ gravity.
  • If the Gravity Wave flies in a direction where there is no surface (i.e. the sky in an open-world map), enemies who have less than 33% health will instantly be killed as they are flung into space. Polaris and others will meanwhile just be slammed back to the normal ground.

Void Disc – Polaris throws out a hyper-dense disc that slows and crushes enemies who near it, potentially engulfing those too weak to withstand it, and bending attacks around its surface.

  • 50 energy cost.
  • Throws out a Void Disc that will hover forward until it hits a solid surface.
  • Enemies nearby the disc take constant Impact damage and are slowed – the closer they are to the disc, the slower they become, up to 60% slower (increase Ability Strength for more slow).
  • Enemies who are lifted are heavily drawn towards this disc (i.e. Collapsed Vauban Bastille).
  • Can either tap activate to throw out a disc that travels until it hits a surface, or hold to send it out a set distance, up until you release the key.
  • Projectiles that get nearby the Void Disc enter its orbit, dealing a portion of its damage to targets nearby the disc, and then throwing it outwards to the nearest enemy target. This can be used to fling bullets around corners (Improve your Ability Range to extend the reach of the disc’s gravitational field).
  • Polaris can have up to two discs active at once.
  • Polaris and Allied Tenno who move into the Void Disc have their second jump and bullet jump automatically restored, and can wall-jump off of it. Polaris himself can stand on top of the disc as well as if it were a solid platform.
  • Standard duration of 10 seconds.
  • Synergy:
    • Discs hit by the Gravity Wave will violently implode, drawing all enemies within a 30m radius towards it and potentially into the Gravity Wave as well. This deals impact damage and deals a permanent debuff to their armor amount.

Newtonian Shift – Polaris enforces an aura of altered gravity around him, depending on how he uses this ability and his current circumstances. He can use this to both drastically reduce gravity and leave enemies hovering hopelessly, or to increase it and crush enemies into the ground (or another surface).

  • 25 energy cost.
    • Costs 1 energy/second to maintain.
  • Creates a 50m area around Polaris that affects gravity, which acts in the same direction which Polaris’ gravity is directed.
  • Hold and tap activations produce different results:
    • Use the tap to negate gravity. Enemies in the aura will become susceptible to being lifted by heavy bursts of damage and move slower. Once lifted, their gravitational field becomes so relatively significant that projectiles will curve towards them.
      • Polaris and allies meanwhile benefit from having an extra bullet jump and improved aim glide duration. Polaris himself will also fall slower, and his own mobility is augmented to the point where he can wall-cling and aim-glide indefinitely while the Newtonian Shift is in effect.
    • Use the hold to boost gravity. Enemies in the aura are more easily knocked down by heavy bursts of damage, move slower, and take increased damage. Projectiles they fire have their arcs drastically increased, which can cause attacks such as grenades or Ogris rockets to just land and explode at the enemy’s feet.
      • Polaris and allies meanwhile benefit from having full knockdown and knockback immunity, and a 200% increase to all damage dealt by slam attacks. Polaris’ personal gravity is also sharpened heavily, but he offsets this with improved jump height and bullet jump speed.
  • Synergy:
    • Activating a gravity wave will subject all enemies within the sphere of the Newtonian shift to its effects.
    • Void Discs in low-gravity Newtonian Shift will gradually draw enemies towards themselves, whereas they will force enemies away in high-gravity Newtonian Shift.

Ebon Star – Concentrating mass into a singular point, Polaris creates an entity with mass so high that no foe can escape it. This voracious singularity drags every scrap and enemy towards it, with each object it amasses only adding to its destructive potential until it inevitably collapses in upon itself.

  • 75 energy cost.
    • Costs an extra 2 energy/second to keep active.
  • Throws out a black hole that slowly travels forward in a straight line, until hitting a solid surface.
  • Enemies within 40 meters of the star will be sucked inwards. Lightweight enemies (or enemies who have been lifted) will become ragdolled as they are drawn into the center of the Ebon Star.
  • Does a base of 3000 physical damage, but does an extra 3000 damage for each enemy and object that’s also dragged into the Ebon Star.
  • Upon either hitting a solid surface, re-activating Ebon Star, or when Polaris runs out of energy, the Ebon Star explodes, throwing all objects it caught in a scattered burst.
  • Enemies who die to the Ebon Star will cease to exist, though their drops will be generated as normal and their maximum HP permanently added to the damage the Ebon Star does.
  • Allied tenno within the reach of the Ebon Star experience a degree of spatial warp - this increases the Ability Range of allies by up to 50%
    • This does not affect Polaris himself however.
  • Synergy:
    • Using a held Gravity Wave activation into an Ebon Star will cause Polaris to immediately teleport to the star, detonating it, and restoring 200% of his shields (overshields)
    • Ebon Star will suck up Void Discs to bolster its range, and double the bonus damage generated for each absorbed target within the star.
    • Having an Ebon Star active within a Newtonian Shift aura will cause the two abilities to produce a feedback loop, negating the energy over time costs of both abilities so long as they are within each other’s radii.
