What Does Increasing Armour Do?

I'm not entirely sure what increasing armour does...

I assume it will... reduce the amount of damage each hit does, but someone said it only works like that with health, not shields.

Is that true?

How does armour work?

 

Armor reduces damage done to your Health only; the higher your Armor, the more damage is reduced when your shields are down.

 

To know how much damage reduction you have, the calculation is as follow :

 

DamageReduction% = Armor / (Armor + 100)

 

At 50 Armor, you have 33% damage reduction

At 100 Armor, you have 50% damage reduction

At 150 Armor, you have 60% damage reduction

 

Remember, that applies only to damage to the damage done to your health; your shields always take 100% damage (or more if it's ice damage)
