I read somewhere you need to remove one arm first and Octavia will do the rest, haven't tried a vault in ages, got my weapons and don't intend on going back unless I'm forced too.

that would make sense since I tend to take stropha pot shots at it while invis to help speed things up usually and that tends to get rid of both arms rather fast.
also same on the never coming back unless forced to bit.

Yeah, nothing fun about vaults. I got the rewards and couldn't be happier to never see them again.

I stopped using Octavia and switched to my Nyx terminator 4th skill build, so I don't know about the arms but I think it still worked just took a bit longer and not sure if I took an arm off first, too long ago now, the memories hurt still. :(

I got seriously burnt out doing the Isolation Vaults and the Arcana Bounties, it took about two months or maybe more of grinding to get all the weapon parts for the sniper, melee and archgun, which the mate just gifted me the archgun because the last part was not dropping.

The RNG was so frustrating I don't really want to see them again in the near future.

Most of the old advice should be valid.  There was one change because certain things were too easy, though the change was minor.  I'm still all for octavia, but for her thing to work, you've got to pop at least one arm first, then the mech kills itself.  After it becomes available, I use voidrig's 4.  It can be kinda hard to land your shots, but when you do it only takes a handful to pop a mech.

I don't use stropha because it can be too hard to land shots, no matter how hard they hit.  I used the punchthrough of ignis wriath, but the DPS was so low.  I'm seeing some new advice in this thread that sound interesting, maybe I'll test some of it out some day.

I haven't tested it yet myself, as I haven't had reason to fight Necramechs in a bit, but I have heard Silence shuts off a lot of their abilities.

On top of that, Banshee can also strip their armor too.

Apart from that, I have heard Necramechs are great for killing NPC necramechs, but obviously that isn't so helpful if you don't have one yet.

But from what I have heard, Banshee is a great choice of frame as she can shut down their abilities and strip their armor.

I just did it with Seeking Shuriken Ash (Helminth Silence helped I'm sure) when I was soloing them, but I don't think that's the most efficient method and I haven't touched vaults since I got my Voidrig. Helminth Silence Ash with armor strip from Seeking Shuriken helps, but Banshee can do it better I think.

Well unless they put it back in. I haven't tried it, but when Deimos launched Octavia cheese was a thing and they patched that so that her mallet does no damage to the mech.

If you have the option at all, having a second player helps a lot. With their weak spot being in the back, you'll simply kill them a lot faster if one player always has access to it.

As mentioned, Silence will disable a lot of their more annoying abilities.

Before I had my own mech, I'd use Atlas and wall the mechs into a corner with Tectonics, and have Rumblers run distraction, which would give me a lot of opportunity to hit them. I've also had luck with Vauban putting Flechette Orb on slants and heights while acting as my own decoy using Vauban. It's a puzzle with a lot of solutions, but the straightforward solutions involve two players, Silence, corrosive projection, radiation damage, a lot of DPS, and modding for punch-through.

If you can rope someone with a Voidrig into helping you, they can delete T3 mechs in under a second.

I personally use octavia
Step 1: place 1
Step 2: wait for mech to kill itself attacking it
Step 3: ???

Step 4: GROFIT

That interaction was removed months ago. There's no way a mech can kill itself unless you remove the arms.

Just curious what are some of the better weapons and frames to deal with necramechs currently?

I can only find older info on it :x

Thanks a ton in advance!

Mausolon to shoot the arms then the Ironbride straight into the face. Other than that.. Stropha.

Augment.

Exactly.

Silence makes it even easier to shut down some of their abilities with Helminth from what I have heard, but when I was first doing them I hadn't even subsumed anything yet, and just Seeking Shuriken Ash and a really strong weapon should be more than enough. My pet just distracted it while I jumped around and hit it in the back.
