Xbox Controller on PC Issue - switches to KBM when piloting Railjack

I'm using a xbox controller on my PC when playing. When I start a railjack mission, I'm good. Controller works fine. As soon as there is a cut scene or a space jump, etc. while I'm piloting, the controller stops working. I can only control the railjack via my keyboard+ mouse. I have to fail the mission to get out of it or force quit the game. Anyone have this issue or a solution to it? It makes me not want to play the game...
