When did you realize the relic system is fraudulent and what do you suggest it should be replaced with ?

In my case right after it was implemented.

But recently, after getting 3 common and 1 *uncommon drops on my 7th radiant AXI G6 run for the Gara BP, I realized the relic system is absolute garbage once again. Through out those 7 runs, all 4 people had radiant relics and didn't even get a rare drop once and it was mostly common rewards eventhough statistically it shouldn't be the case.

Less dilluted loot tables, or a token system is needed urgently.

edit : *meant to say uncommon not rare

How so? Each person has a 10% to get the rare part and the numbers were not on your side unfortunately

4 radiant relics mean I should have 34% chance to have at least 1 rare item. In 7 runs I didn't get a single rare item and 70% of the drops were common items.

You're just having bad luck. If I were you, I would stop doing radshares and starts farming platinum to get the last part. Gara Prime's BP price has dropped so much since launch.

The easiest way for me to not be disappointed by the relic system is by not using it to directly farm for what I am wanting to get from it, but rather just take what I can get and sell for platinum to buy the remaining pieces I don't have.

If I've done my math correctly, there's about a 5% chance of this happening.  Yes, it's unlikely, but it doesn't invalidate the system.  I'm sorry that you're having difficulty with getting the part, but it will drop eventually.  Meanwhile, you've likely been on the better end of the drops on other items.  I know it's hard to think about it objectively right now while you're frustrated, but if you do run the numbers, they do trend to the stated numbers in every case I've ever seen done (including my own runs of hundreds of sorties with tracking the results).  Good luck.

May i suggest you not go into a casino or try your hand at a game of chance with real money?

Jokes aside,

I would disagree with your title , though i understand the sentiment and why you believe that,

The Relic system is not fraudulent , but it is statistically stacked against you as are most of the loot drops in the game.

Making it "fair" is not the intention of DE , they want you to keep using that slot machine to the point that you get frustrated and just buy the thing.

I really suggest just buying the parts you really want to avoid frustration.

sure. but this is an angry whinepost calling one of the game's better reward systems fraudulent (???) garbage over a single bad experience, so I'm not dignifying it with a well thought out reply anyway

That's not how math works, each chances are individual, they are not additive

Just bad RNG.

The relic system is so much better than Void Key RNG hell and I'm usually fairly lucky as long as I form a squad with 3 others.

Nowdays I can get the entire Prime Access set in ~2-4 hours, back in the day I usually spent 12 hours on T3 Surv for just a single 5% drop.

Bad RNG streaks really suck and it's easy to blame some evil outside force when you just can't get what you want, but take a break before you get too upset about it.

Dude you used the word "fraudulent", this is exactly what you said.

Rng is rng ... best you can so is squad up with people after the same thing really.

Took me an hour of survival to get the part from a particular relic, it is what it is 🤷‍♀️

That is actually how math works.

A radiant relic has a 10% chance to drop the Rare/Gold part it displays.

When you repeat the same action with the exact same chance of outcomes multiple times, the chance of the desire outcome occuring ONCE does increase with every attempt.

You can easily calculate the chance like this:

1. Calculate the chance of failure.

The chance of failure on a single attempt is 90%, for this formula 90% = 0.9

Just multiply the chances of failure with each other, in a single 4x radiant relic run it would look like this:

0.9 * 0.9 * 0.9 * 0.9 = 0,6561

or

0.9 ^ 4 = 0,6561

Now just multiply the number you got with 100 to get the % chance again.

That's a 65,61% chance to fail

2. Deduct your results from 1 to get the chance of success.

1 - 0,6561 = 0,3439

If you want to avoid retyping the number on your calculate you can do this

0,6561 * -1 = -0,6561 + 1 = 0,3439

So a 34,39% chance to succeed!

Now what's important you remember and where the misconception of "multiple attempts having better chances is wrong" comes from, you will NEVER hit 100% this way, you can hit 99,999999% eventually, but if you're just too unlucky, you will never get what you want.

Now just for fun let's calculate the chance of doing 7 x4 radiant runs and getting 0 rare parts.

0,6561 * 0,6561 * 0,6561 * 0,6561 * 0,6561 * 0,6561 * 0,6561 = 0.0523347633

or

0,6561 ^7 = 0.0523347633

So a 5.23347633% chance to fail!

Yes, that's is quite low, but many drops, which many of us have already obtained, have an even lower chance, it's frustrating, but still far from >nearly< impossible.

You should have. You don't know how the math works. Either read the explanation on how the math works or don't talk about how the math works ever again.

Reading what you're responding to is also really helpful so you're not responding with asinine non-sequiturs. The game doesn't add the changes together? No joke? Really? Who ever said it did?

That's like, your opinion man.

Again not the case. I said the system is/was garbage from the start. Instances like this particular one(out of many) highlight why it is so.
