I'm pretty sure the entire library of Image Comics characters was just slight variations of total edgelords...

(PSN)Tactless_Ninja
This game is literally filled with Saturday morning cartoon villains. Nobody really dies and they're back to their old tricks on next weeks episode. Most recent cast of villains features a Southern Belle Capitalist Karen. Yareli absolutely fits. I think it's actually good that we have a variety of presentation for characters within this game. Having everybody act serious, brutish, and edgy would just make everything feel the same. Not that you *could* have a 40+ character game with everyone acting like that, but I would imagine it being challenging in order to do so. It's like with Guilty Gear where clearly most characters have a serious slant to them, but then you have someone like Faust to remind you that "oh right, we're supposed to have some fun". Honestly, I just find it interesting that Yareli has a similar backstory of Nezha in which they are basically both guardians to children in some way. In fact... they almost have similar themes of movement, allusions to roller blades of some kind, have complete polar opposite elements- now that you think about it, these two would practically be best buddies. Fair enough and.... did not know that about Nezha, learn something new every day lol. 18 hours ago, mrpyro12345678 said: Meanwhile there's N e z h a. KroosDesuYo
5 hours ago, Littlelosttank said: Wait what? Bravery for child solders? Mind elaborating? Quote Following the fall of the Orokin Empire, the farmland Reshantur suffered from routine and violent exchange of hands. As the poor farmers could not afford proper defenses, they were forced to rely on the eldest of children, who fashioned themselves after Nezha from relics found in the area. During a defense from the Corpus, an incident that would come to be known as the Massacre of Reshantur, the farmland was torn asunder by flame. A Corpus surveyor named Jena Xasparin found a solitary boy in the midst of Corpus remains that were dismembered, impaled, and burned. The boy claimed "Nezha did it", that he razed the field with his wheels of flame; the children would go with Nezha as part of his celestial army while the boy stayed behind to tell the tale. Xasparin assumed the boy was traumatized and there was mutiny within the Corpus ranks, but every single blackened bone that was excavated and gene-tagged had belonged to an adult. source: https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Nezha You can read it in-game at his leverian

Elfezen
What do you mean by anime exactly? as in japanese animation? (dragon ball, naruto, one piece, bleach etc) Yareli has the typical female popstar behavior, movements and clothing, which can be found in almost any country that has this type of music, but especially south korea (k-pop) and her skirt outfit is in that sense as well, her attitude is almost entirely taken from barbie material japanese animation can be inspired by those kind of stuff as well, but it is not that Yareli took from there, this is like saying Excalibur took from anime because he uses a katana and does samurai movements, it is rather they both (both Yareli and anime) take ideas from pop star culture, especially k-pop in Yareli's case On 2021-07-12 at 1:37 PM, Loza03 said: Personally, it's not so much the 'anime' theme as much as it's a specific anime theme. Other frames like Valkyr, Ash, or Wukong often blend their themes, obfuscate it with visual cues from something else or are referencing something super ancient themselves. Namely, Valkyr is named after valkyries, plays like a berserker and looks like a cat. Ash is clearly a Ninja, but mixes it up with a scorpion/bug aesthetic. Wukong is based on Sun Wukong, who was a mythological figure even before he got himself entirely codified in the Journey to the West. I have difficulty believing that the 'Genki Girl' and 'Kawaii' Aesthetic managed to survive several thousand years almost completely intact when pretty much nothing else has in its original form. from your very first sentence, you can already see that just by using the term "anime" out of context has confused your entire post because it fundamentally fails to grasp what anime is (japanese animation) and what a medium is there is no warframe that is inspired by anything related to japanese animation, and saying that something is inspired by anime is a nonsensical statement because animation is a medium (entertainment medium) which by default takes inspiration from other cultural themes, its like saying that frost is inspired by movies (of course it makes no sense) Yareli's themes are entirely taken from pop music culture and barbie girl, in particular k-pop and some soft combination of alice in wonderland, all of her movements, behavior and stances are typical stances from there, there might be some japanese animation shows that take from there but saying that Yareli takes from anime makes no sense at all, just like it makes no sense saying Excalibur takes from anime because he uses a katana, they both take from cultural themes unrelated to entertainment mediums

She’s a Warframe that acts like a little girl, does goofy stuff, throws piece signs and water hearts, a bubble gum frame. When it’s well established lore Warframes were designed with the intentional purpose to push back the sentient threat as well as battle the Infested you know WARframes! Yareli doesn’t fit that kinda lore. And the rested animations (big eye roll) I guess the piece sign is Warframe lore now? I mean, Octavia literally dances while killing things. Hildryn starts posing like a bodybuilder, Wisp plays with a light, etc. She just acts childish and does the whole "anime" pose thing. Nothing about her doesn't fit the lore in comparison to any other character, you just hate the anime pose thing. It's okay to admit it. For christ sake, the Warframe pilots ARE children. cute_moth.npc
At least there aren't any other shockingly cute Warframes, like one that turns into a Fairy, does a pirouette with her butterfly friends for an idle animation and has sparkle magic! That would be totally the worst. Also, someone is really good at necromancy.
