Which abilities have you subsumed and why?

Some abilities are weaker when placed on other frames, like Roar and Defy (and more).  Others probably should be, but aren't yet.  Ahem, Gloom.

I've subsumed a bunch, just because. As for to, I am one of those players who largely plays one frame in particular - Limbo, low duration - and a lot of the abilities on Helminth are duration-based ones.

 

I've currently got Xata's Whisper equipped, but I might go back to Vial Rush since that's the closest thing it has to a movement-expanding ability (as opposed to a movement-buffing one, most of which would last maybe five seconds or less), outside of maybe Reave. I would kill for Ripline on Helminth or something :\.

Only for the frames I play with the most. 

Nova- Slova (Equinox) Eclipse Defense hard hitting and elusive, Speedva (Ember) Accelerant - Def/ guaranteed knock down cc. 

Ash- (Banshee) Savage Silence - Spys/Endurance 

Rhino- (Helminth) Infested Strength- 400% Strength buff, (Nidus) Larva - Max Armor Ironclad

Mesa- (Xaku)whisper for regulators void damage against sentients, (Khora) Ensnare- Disruption, (Hildrin) Pillage armor strip over shields -for everything else 

Limbo- (Mag) Pull - Def/Pull enemies into the rift

The rest either sit in my foundry or collect dust till I find a use for them.

Every frame except Grendel, because I kind of can't be bothered farming him again. Yes, I even eventually farmed Khora again, despite previously vowing not to do so. My Protea needed a new 4, and Larva's range penalty, inability to be re-cast and aesthetics just didn't do it for me, so I sucked it up and headed back into Sanctuary Onslaught. It was just as painful as the first time around.

As for which frame's using what, quite a few. I've already mentioned Ensnare on Protea, but I've also put Banish on Loki and turned him into a Rescue specialist. I've put Dispensary on Nova to support her with energy and ammo for her Kuva Bramma. I've put Roar on Mesa, Baruuk and Trinity for a little extra damage. I've put Gloom on Saryn, and basically made her invincible. I've put Shooting Gallery on Gara and Zephyr, because why not, let's make them extra invincible too. And I've put Elemental Ward on Mirage to leverage her extremely high ability Strength to mitigate her survivability issue, as well as on Nezha and Frost for a little extra armor behind their Warding Halo and Snow Globe.

That's about it for now. I'm still kind of experimenting.

I was just subsuming what I haven't yet because I wanted to try out Golden Instinct. Turns out, it's really nice. And it scales off of ability range (up to around 480m with my default Loki build cuz range is his thing, go figure). Already found a rare crate and 3 or 4 ayatans in between 7 and 10 capture runs so far.

Now that Helminth is maxed again though, I may stop subsuming for now. Don't know if they're going to add more ranks in the future or not.

Aside from max leveling Helminth however, I really wanted to get a Banish Decoy build working on my Loki, but for some reason the mod from Conclave "Deceptive Bond" which is supposed to give Loki 50% damage redirection to Decoy and vice versa isn't working. My theory was that banishing a decoy with that augment running would just give Loki a 50% DR for decoy's duration as long as you don't get nullified. But I'm sadly not able to test that out, since the key mod doesn't seem to work outside Conclave. (Don't know if it works in it either, as I haven't been able to get in a match. You know how it is)

Wow it's so interesting to see so many different builds here.

Any love for Revenant?

I'm looking at farming Revenant to subsume for Reave more for survivability when I get eventually get to Steel Path.

This might be a silly question, once you subsume an ability and store it, can the same ability be injected more than once to multiple Warframes?

I've subsumed all warframes.
Some of the abilities I use the most: fire walker for speed + status immunity + stagger and knockdown immunity +heat panic+ looks cool,khoras ability that locks demolitionists and other high tier units,yarelis spinning blades for fast frames with high power strength which destroys star chart enemies,fire blast for armor strip,roar for mesa,xatas whisper for my trinity,and eclipse for my inaros.

I have a min max gloom build on my slowva too for laughs.
If I'm not gearing for something specific I tend to use firewalker over everything else because it does so many things all in one.

zephyr's airburst instead of cataclysm on limbo, because the way nullifers interact with cataclysm makes it pointless to where banish is the more favorable option, and banish's chain effect is also pretty awful, often missing half the enemies your aiming at, so bring them closer and spam banish.

If ya can't tell, they need to change how nullifiers interact with cataclysm, make it to where it doesn't remove the cataclysm, and instead just unbanishes everyone in the nullifier bubble's range.

Nourish Strike on Titania to make a heavy viral/slash dex pixia, giving extra damage but more importantly saving mod slots to optimize for Arcane Velocity and Arcane Precision while squeezing in the new Galvanized mods in order to make a non razorwing blitz build that still does very well on steel path. 

Dispensary is fun with Wisp, with an Aerial Ace / Pax Soar kitgun and mods for aim gliding and aerial gameplay (Tractor Beam, Anti Grav Array and Arcane agility with combat discipline) it lets you put a mote (or several) up in the air and float around breach surging between them all with the dispensary giving out sweet energy.. You never even have to come down if you don't want to. Breach surge refreshes your aim glide duration I think? Nothing will even shoot at you unless you stop and spam with your gun long enough for something to look up and lock on.

Silence goes on Protea who also has an Aerial Ace / Pax Soar build, only with Combat Discipline, Arcane agility and arcane avenger so they will constantly proc and you can bullet jump and float around super fast leaving turrets all over the skies.. No riplines, no fire blasts to threaten your airtime and enemies rarely even spot you even totally visible, when they do it's too late! Sometimes I also like infested mobility on Protea with this build just to have ridiculous warp speed bullets jumps, flips and air slides while gliding.

I have been asked how I'm using turrets or motes on Zephyr before ^^;

Dear DE just add more guns you can use Pax Soar / Aerial Ace with.

Subsumed all sans Yareli:

- Ember: Breach Surge - Chain reaction with Inferno that tends to nuke everything on sight.

- Wukong: Roar - More damage for his staff and clone.

- Valkyr: Eclipse - More damage for her claws and guns / Fire Blast - Armor strip + CO primer for her claws.

- Gauss: Fire Walker - Crowd control and speed buff for charging battery  and heat primer.

- Umbra: Gloom - Opens up an Exalted Blade slot by removing Healing Return while boosting his survivability and constant crowd control.

- Gara: Eclipse - More damage to build Splinter Storm.

- Mirage: Null Star - Helps her tank a lot of damage without the need for constant casting.

- Ash: Silence - The Savage Silence augment makes him feel very powerful. Also serves to keep him safe by delaying enemy reaction.

I love this one. Made Ash way more godlike than he was already.

Like 4 abilities have lowered effect.

Some of my favourites are;

Energised munitions Wisp. Gun do be goin brrrrrrrrrr.

Infested mobility Mesa, to help with aerial peacemaker.

Roar Trinity so I can solo tricap.

Larva protea for focussing crystal blaze artillery.

Ensnare for Zephyr to speed up Tornado one shots.

Oh and of course, Empower Rhino.

Well I did put spellbind on trinity the other night, trying to keep the poor teamkilling bastards alive fighting radiation sisters.

So I cast spellbind and energy vampire on a sister and lay down blessing but I am probably just going to start whoring 'ensnare' for the fight instead.

Why spend time healing their attacks if you can stunlock them.

Energized munitions on Mesa. This should've been her native ability, it just makes sense. She already materializes ammo for her finger guns, why not do it for other weapons. Her 1 had always been near useless, and this ability felt like a mini rework to me. 

Personally, I like to stay within theme for a frame.

I've subsumed all but Yareli. I mostly use:

  • Khora's Ensnare, because I adore Khora and I love putting CC on frames that don't have any (assuming they can be modded for range.)
  • Wisp's Breach Surge, for very similar reasons.
  • I put gloom on Nekros because, I love the aesthetic and I like a melee focussed Nekros
  • I like Garuda's Blood Altar, that's great for frames that don't have good healing capability.
  • I used to use Protea's Dispensary a lot when running a frame to support a Necramech, but there are energy management mods now.

I love Zephyr's Airburst because it lets me group up enemies together and finish off with other abilities or weapons.

Mag's Pull is also one of the best and my favorite cc abilities in the game, so it's also subsumed the most.

Also Ember's Fireblast, good cc, armor strip, small damage, status effect, good ability overall.

As for specific examples:

Airburst on Valkyr's 3, I love using Venka Prime and her 4 to tear them all apart when grouped together.

Same on Wisp, replacing her 1 (yes, i hate that ability, fight me xD), and using then her 4 to burn them alive! Most fun i've had with Wisp in a while.

Pull on Mesa's 1 for some fun CC while i gain enegry to use her other abilities.

Warcry on Nova's 3 (always hated this ability), in conjunction with Stropha to quickly power up her 1 (orb) for max damage!

Fireblast on Hilrdyn's 3. I never like it, so i but something visually interesting and fun on her, plus i need one less Augment Mod Slot, namely Blazing Pillage to get the same effect ^^

There are more, but this is pretty much it for now.

Gloom = Protea#4. Octavia#2, Saryn#2 and Harrow#2. Totally insane on Protea. Going to try it on Hildryn too.

Roar = Lavos#2, Revenant#1, Frost#2, Titania#1, Mesa#1, Ivara#2, Oberon#1, Wukong#4, Slowva#3 and most other frames with a good strength investment and atleast neutral duration. Used on an alternate Protea setup since she gets +100% strength for free. Sure it is nerfed compared to Rhino's own Roar, but it is still a massive damage boost.

Fire Blast = Works well on any frame with atleast neutral strength and range. Quick and simple armor strip option if you need it. Used on alternate Octavia#2 build.

Breach Surge = Xaku#1, also on alternate setups for Lavos#2, Octavia#2 and Frost#2. Breach Surge + Catalyse = whacky.

Condemn = Hildryn#1, nice option that works against non-armored and non-shielded enemies.

Thermal Sunder = Vauban#1

Fire Walker = Gauss#1

Xata's Whisper = Will probably be used on the frame I'm gonna use versus potential future sentient content.
