Do you feel respected by DE as a player (time investment in the lategame for unlocks)?

The one thing that makes me want to play Warframe over other games is DEs involvement with their gaming community. Yes, sometimes they listen to the community and sometimes they don't, but compared to other game makers they are miles ahead in community engagement.

But you do remember the thing with the "dropchance booster"?
They work on ways (or should i say test) to make us use more plat... and that is why i want to talk about the way Warframe is taking right now.
I've sold my stuff, because prices go down and down with any unvault, because people buy more plat if the prices are lower and they get more.
The booster was one thing where they went to far but they always roll out different stuff that makes you want to use plat to skip the grind that gets harder and harder.

I sometimes play with Unreal Engine 4 and have fun with that. FF14 isnt for me... i enjoy parts of Warframe but i feel that DE wants to force me to play stuff like Hoverboardraces...

Or when they add something new to make me grind the same thing again, like Nightwave that made you play stuff that you dont need to get to the Umbra Forma.
I can tell you... i would pref to do Mot survivals or some excavations.... but i really dont want to go after the profit taker or do 5 missions on one of the open worlds... or farm stuff so i can kill the grove guy that MAYBE drops a mod that looks nice but hat zero use, because other stuff is 10x better.

"or sekiro, breath of the wild, god of war, witcher 3, whatever floats your boat."

====================

well, it's called videogames. capcom forced me to escort ashley in RE4 although i absolutely hate that part. kojima forced me to shoot big boss and watch 6 hours long cutscenes, dam you, kojima! i don't even want to talk about what yoko taro and nier did to me. CDPR forced me to save baron's family in TW3, i don't care about baron as much as other people who worship the quest.

speaking of other people, i absolutely despise excavation with a burning passion. why? because i made sibear. that sentence should explain itself clearly.
on contrary, i'd rather kill profit taker for the 1000th time. because i like the mission. it feels epic, i get to use my mech if i want, it drops plenty of stuff and money, what's not to like?
i hope that little example shows that the subjectivity is really strong with your posts.

i once quit a very important job because i don't feel that company respected me nor my time. it took a lot of courage, and i'm still amazed i did it to this day.
if people can't even do it with videogames, well i wish you the best of luck with life, because you absolutely going to need, a lot of it. i mean just quit the game and play something else more interesting, it's not even fraction as hard as resigning from your job.

Of course. Everything released in game I can acquire within a couple days to a week, or instantly with plat. Formaing weapons and frames takes like 30 min. Railjack was so easy with my dojos MK 3 stuff that I soloed 3 railjack planets in like 2 days. Liches are easy as well, only taking a couple hrs at most to get a weapon if you're casual about it.

There's nothing hard or time consuming about this game at all.

Dude, I just ask myself if 77 is your birthyear and if all your friend are having kids to share their wisdom with... and you have no kids and try to play the wise guy on the internet, while i just try to explain that DE upgraded their "carrot on a stick" game.

I work in marketing and "study" how microtransactions evolve, but just like in Hearthstone (they changed from a 20€ PvE set to more full releases that cost you about 250€ + you lose the saveup time that you had when you got all the cards for 20€) and people said "no, it's great... we get 1 free legendary card, while they got like 10 with the 20€ set and now got 1 out of 20.

It seems that most people here just cant understand that the Railjack rework to a forma system, the Necramechs and the Lich weapons are slowly changing how the game is played. Even if you buy the weapon... you're not done untill you burned forma that you will run out of in the future, because a Forma takes 23hours to build and after the "seasonpass" Nightwave this is the next thing that's there to make should that you better login tomorrow.

I wonder howlong it will take for someone to come up with the math on howmany days you need to craft formas EVERY DAY before you can hit max MR.
And by the way... plaque star (the forma event) got moved to the invested planet. You can still get the weapons, but they removed the forma from the rewardpool.

Not really, they've been ignoring player feedback an opinions on updates as of late, we said we didn't want railjack and warframe energy linked, we said we didn't like the plexus, we said the primary/secondary arcanes's and galvanized mods weren't the solution and we said that invigorations don't belong for various different reason, DE ignored them all and added it all in anyways.

Post tennocon it makes a lot more sense now, they're busy, between cross play, cross save, a mobile game, the current updates, and the new war, all while being one of the smaller development companies? They probably don't have time to look at the majority of feedback, but then again... why label the trello boards as "bugs and feedback"?

I didn't like what DE did with the railjack at all. She refunded it but at the same time increased the costs to upgrade the mods. So actually there was no refund. Everything relating to railjack 3.0 disappointed me quite a bit. Before railjack had no problems and problems were created in railjack 3.0. And I'm not a few problems... there are many like the removal of the energy flow, gigantic corpus maps and full of tight stairs and many levels and with little aerial combat. And as for the new mods all without relevance for the most part. What makes the railjack are the plats that are the great difference of the railjack.

Before the update, the customization and mods installed made a difference.

Let me just put it like this: IMO there is only ONE thing that saves Warframe's 'grind vs monetization' practices from being some of the most aggressive in the videogame (but not mobile) industry. And that is the fact players can freely farm the premium currency, platinum, in game. And there's very little restrictions on that. If we couldn't farm plat ourselves, I'd never in a million years still be playing WF, despite how much fun I think the gameplay is. Because the grind and RNG are absolutely insane, and i've played a ton of asian MMOs that are also very grindy and RNG based. Warframe isn't very far behind them in all honesty. But at least WF gives you the option to farm plat and skip the worst parts of the grind that way, and that is its saving grace.

Yes, i also respect DE back for the fact that they do not follow the lead of most forum topics that are based on complaints about the complexity of the grinding / gameplay. I started playing Warframe because it challenged me in terms of the complexity of the game and the understanding of the game mechanics and I loved it.

IMO, no offence.

Never, not once, has the idea popped into my head that a game maker needs to 'respect' me in anyway, I don't honestly understand why a person would think about such a thing.

This is how gambling gets integrated into games. This is how absurd EULAs get implemented as official policy. Gaming is universal, gaming is social. At no point should this veer into fluffy snowflake fifis territory, but if a company doesn't respect its audience, it is precisely how the road at companies liked Blizzard get paved, for both employees and consumers alike. It is never a road you want to be on. Ever.

There is always a balance. Ignoring that balance on either side of the line is simply a recipe for crappiness and mediocrity in the best of cases.

I have forma from building them in the background from relic fissures and lua music puzzle.

I also have no issues making plat so spending 70 to 100 on forma isn't a big deal at all.

It's ok if you're new to the game.

Edit: and I'm also not spamming mastery fodder to have a higher arbitrary number that doesn't actually reflect my experience and knowledge of the game.

No one said feedback and opinions are demands. They're suggestions and that's all. I want invigorations in the game so it doesn't matter how you feel about them.

But i think it's offensive that you 100% ignored my points and claim that anything is fine.

Just because they take "drops at rotation C" and put railjack infront of it doesnt make it magic.
It doesnt add anything to lock the item behind 2 gamemodes fused together... it just costs you more time.

Holokeys are a reward for finishing voidstorms that (if they would've added them) nobody would play, because it makes more sense to just select the mission on the normal starmap.
They could've put the same reward behind the steel path survival if it would've been about harder enemys, but it's about "how can we make the grind longer" till the next release, while also making people spend plat to train the plat pool, so people can get more items when they buy plat, so they buy more plat from DE.

Is this so hard to understand what they're doing here? They even removed forma from Plaque Star so you cant farm finished formas anymore and have to use plat to get them

Generally speaking, I think DE does a great job of respecting my time and energy.  Is everything perfect?  No, there's a list of things that could be improved in this game that is longer than DE could ever realistically fix.  But I do feel that they tend to address the most important issues, that they tend to listen, and that they genuinely do their best.  And most of the time, the results are good.

OP, from reading your post, the vibe I get is that you feel like you have to do everything now.  You mention DE releasing all these new weapons, and how you don't get to use them after you finish leveling them because you've moved on to the next one.  I mean this with 100% respect, but this is a you problem.  I'd recommend taking a big step back from Warframe.  Instead of looking at it as a to-do list, look at it as a buffet.  When you sit down to play, don't think "what am i going to get done today?".  Instead think "what do I want to do today?"

Long ago I stopped intentionally leveling my MR (I'm at 24 now) because it just stopped feeling like there was any worthwhile benefit from getting it any higher.  When I see weapons that interest me, I go after them, and the others I don't.  I don't feel the need to finish everything in Warframe, and if I did feel that need I would probably burn out and feel really negatively about the game.  I kind of wonder if that's where you are?  Maybe a break would help, or maybe just re-configuring the way you think about the game.

That said, I don't know you, so these are all just good faith guesses to be taken with a grain of salt.  My hope is that they are in any way helpful, because I'd love for you to be able to enjoy the games you spend your time with!

But are you MR1 or Legendary 1?

There is a big difference between the grind when you still have many things to do and the time when DE says "ok... now you do a Hoverboard tutorial with a story that you cant skip" or when you deleted chroma 2 years ago and then they go like "ok, if you want that ability for the helminth system then you need 100 000 standing for cephalon simaris.

If you are legendary 1 then DE has gone WAY above and beyond in giving you your "investment" and "respecting your time". I find it extremely, EXTREMELY disrespectful for any player who has spent over 500 hours into this game or made high MR rankings to think that all of that CHOSEN playtime wasn't rewarded. The game was good enough for OP to play that much....congrats, time well respected! And if you somehow think obsessions, completionism, overspending or "rushframe"...aka personal problems, are excusable, then all I can say is wow.

Again, this is next level. We ALL know DE needs some way to maintain a revenue stream while allowing the f2p model to be true. Time gates are the best course of action because THERE IS NO RUSH. Your choice to rush is a free formed decision with financial consequences. Choosing to wait has time consequences. Therefore, choose accordingly. The game is free and only non game effecting cosmetics cost. Everything else is earned, traded or created. Your time is respected, your wallet is respected and the offered experience is very respectful.

You've met with a terrible fate. Haven't you op?

I agree with you that DE doesn't respect the players time.
It is all about the numbers for them. Otherwise why do they pay players ingame items for watching their streams? Would their stream numbers really be the same? Why do they dilute their drop pools with useless credits and endo rewards? The list goes on.

I disagree that Forma is that big of a deal by itself. Personally I would look at all the Arcane unlockers you need for guns now, to use the arcanes that is supposed to make guns as good as melee.

I do not agree with your points, but I understand your point of view and therefore did not write anything about your points.

I feel respected by DE as a player - that all.

Since you already resorting to attacking me as a person, trying to convince yourself how sad my life must've been

Then simply look no further then how many replies you need to write in here.

When things are as correct as you want to believe it to be, it won't need these much explanations. If it's as good as you believe, people would be screaming hallelujah and praising you instead of questioning and arguing.

This will be my last post here. Have fun trying to convince all these people one by one, i see there are plenty. Good luck with marketing.

Untrue, in my case.  If it was behind steel path survival, you'd be able to get, at most, a chance at holokey drops every 5 minutes.  With Railjack void storms, I can complete the missions in between ~3m10s and 7m20s depending on which I'm doing.  It averages out, for me, to be much faster to try for holokeys doing railjack than it would have doing steel path survival.  I managed to get the 160 keys (plus quite a few extra) I wanted to be able to purchase the melee tenet weapons without beating my head against the wall and while working through my cache of relics.  And I even had a good / enjoyable time while doing it.

I know that was just an example you were giving and it wasn't the root of your argument, but I wanted to point it out all the same to demonstrate that experiences are different for different players and not one person is correct.  You (or others) feeling that changes are being made that don't respect your time is perfectly valid for your circumstances, but it doesn't make it a universal truth.  Just as my belief that the changes have made the game more enjoyable for me doesn't negate the validity of your concerns for yourself.

Ambassador farming is rediculous I've got over 12 hours on luckless expanse on Venus proxima and the name says it all I mean 20 min for a small chance 8.33% is pathetic and unnecessarily time consuming at least give half that chance for B rotation so I feel like I have a chance to get it before wasting a 3rd of an hour just to get Endo. And to think I've got to do this 4 more times makes me want to say screw this and wait for a discount coupon. I'm pretty sure that's not how they want stuff farmed in this game. I'm wondering if they ever try to farm stuff at the stupid drop rates they expect us to farm at

Hit opinion: it depends on the issue. I am someone who’s voiced their opinions about subjects such as the recent hemlith additions, and we were ignored completely. Sadly when it comes to some stuff DE just up and ignores us, which is frustrating to me personally. I’d say it’s an on/off love/hate relationship, where sometimes I love what DE does but other times I hate it and don’t feel like my opinion is being respected. Overall, while there are times I fee they haven’t respected my opinion there are also times I feel like they have.
