Clan Armory

I was wondering, what if clans had an armory where we can proudly display our clan member's weapons as trophies?

Members would have to offer up their own weapons to the clan and it would be put in a display, it would have the clan member's name, stats, and preferred mod set up, for the whole clan to see.  The only thing is, the weapon can't be used while it's on display, the weapon can be taken back at anytime the member wants it back and they keep their mods.

Another idea I have is Clan Achievements, pretty simple idea, not too different from what you get on consoles, difference is as a clan attains an achievement they would unlock constructable trophies placed in a trophy room, which will also have to be built.  The Achievements would have to be unlocked through participation from the whole clan and would have different tiered versions depending on the type of clan (Shadow, mountain, moon, and so on.).

What do you guys think, good idea, bad idea, would you offer one of your favorite weapons for the honor of your clan, would you be more invested in your clan if you could more easily see the results of your participation, what do you guys think in general?

Update 1: Only clan members with certain permissions would be allowed to offer their weapons to the armory, if said permissions are ever removed, all weapons offered by clan member are returned to their inventory, credit goes to YouHaveShamedYoFamory.

The armory would also be built into a shooting range, where members can test out offered clan weapons on programmable targets that can be modified on a terminal built in the range, the targets would be holograms of enemies that have been researched by the clan (I'm referring to DE's future Codex plans), and would have their stats adjusted based on the level players have set for them on the terminal, credit goes to Toztman

Update 2: The weapons are only usable in the Dojo Shooting Range, no where else, the weapons are also still in the owner's inventory to prevent any exploitation, the owner just can't use them while they are being borrowed by the clan, credit goes to Solaurus.

what if the clan member is an initiate and has to wait for a higher rank member to host dojo for them... then they'll never get their wep bac

If they can't enter the dojo how would they offer a weapon to the clan, and if said member was kicked from their clan, their weapon would be returned to them, since the display case is for current members only.

Add a Firing range where you take donated weapons off the wall but can't take me out of the room

That's a brilliant idea, the display case could be some sort of revolving/interchangeable locker built in to a firing range, great idea!

they can enter the dojo. when a higher ranking person hosts it. There would no doubt be a person of low rank who'd do that and have that problem

I see, how about a rank restriction, only members with certain permissions can add their weapons, this would help prevent this issue from occurring.

This with the "borrow weapons to test in firing range but can't take them out the dojo" idea someone had and we have something good going on as long as registering a weapon doesn't take it from your inventory.

The weapon will still be yours, and it will still be counted in your inventory to prevent any exploitation of the weapon slot system and from bad/sneaky clans, and yes, the only place these weapons can be used is in the dojo shooting range, they would be non-configurable unless the owner updates it.

Not to donate but add virtual replicate with builds. Problem is that moon clans have a lot of members, 1000 on each of the sister clans and multiply that with at least 3 weapons, then add in 50k more which is probably closer to the total number of guns in the vault. If they were separately show cased, then it'd have to be a one big of a room or if it was more like database, it would take a lot of time to see all of them.

Almost no one will be willing to donate their weapons since people naturally like using them more than looking at them and who would build duplicate weapons just to get them into a vault when trading is incoming. Even if they would have put the weapons there and be able to take them back at any time, I don't think it would work in both, as an idea or mechanically. It would be very problematic.

A museum would be a nice alternative but it wouldn't exactly feature much about the weapons and builds themselves, but it would be a nice general showcase of the weapons of the game and some boss miniatyres.

We could have archives for that sort of thing, displaying a search function of weapons and their builds and have a rating system of what people have found generally best and they are free to submit. It would also be a good way to check and store your newly upgraded and upcoming data codex information. Only problem with the last suggestion is clanless players so maybe that is not so good but the first one would be nice one.

Achievement idea is nice but have it work on normal missions rather than having it work on events, top clans already get statues after all and whole clan participation requirement will only work with active small clans, anything beyond +70 member clans would most likely have problems of ever "achieving " anything.

You're right, larger clans would have some problems, but the issue is a result of their size, which is a problem DE has been having issues with for sometime now.  But the big problem for them is their size, which would make sorting through all the weapon submissions a pain, but again this is a problem created by them and their carelessness in recruiting, this problem can easily be avoided by simply limiting weapon submissions to higher ranking clan members.

The idea works, but only on a personal level, it shows the dedication a player has put towards their weapon and their clan, it would show how much they put in for the clan, it also gives players that may never even know what a Snipertron is while also allowing them to know how great it is by letting them try one in the Shooting Range.  There will be those players that don't care about the clan or how much effort they put in it, but if a clan member gave up their Snipertron Vandal for other players to see and play with, others will see how great a clanmate they are.

The Achievement idea has nothing to do with events, the idea is on a smaller, more personal scale to what DE currently does with their events.  If a Shadow clan completes a certain number of missions they would unlock a Lotus emblem for their dojo to show their accomplishment.  The requirements would scale depending on the clan tier, while the type of clan reward would also be different between clan tiers.  This isn't in the event format of clans competing against each other for a trophy, it's just a system to reward clans for their comradery and dedication for playing Warframe.  This would also enforce proper clan membership management, larger clans suffer from a higher number of in active players/toons, inactive players are a burden to all clans, and should be dealt with by clan superiors.  As a clan management issue it should be dealt with by clan management, sadly this is also left to exploitation, bad clans will start pressuring clanmates to be more active to unlock some trophy with the threat of kicking members, but this already a problem with some clans, only the community can deal with this.

I liked that idea of an Archive, I think that's something worth talking about.
