Don't get me wrong, the forums are great since they help people get things off their chests and want to focus their frustrations somewhere instead to another person or DE directly.

However, been feeling lately the forums are only around to let the player base release their frustrations and DE are not looking at any of it.

The feedback section is filled with such great ideas that DE could easily implement that would make the game soooooooo good. Yet nothing, not even a hint that DE are looking at any of this.

All i have ever seen is DE keep making things easier and for lower MRs since it helps their bottom line. DE be like "Can't add anything too hard otherwise people that start playing the game today wont be able to reach it".

Here's another thread that will just slowly go to the end of the list and be eventually deleted.

Maybe DE did look at it and decided none of it was suitable. You have to remember that just because someone has a good suggestion it does not mean it is viable to implement into the game. Many suggestions that one person thinks are good others think are terrible. Personally, I have not seen many good suggestions lately.

DE was also having some kind of vacation thing following Tennocon, so they may not have been around in the last couple of weeks anyway.

with the amount of threads in all the sub-forums of this site alone, the time needed to even read everything would be staggering - now, to even respond to them all would take a legion of people alone for this PR-job. idk why people think that such a thing would be possible when you don't get such treatment from IT-giants where you are a heavy paying customer (i think i really don't need to put in names here, right?).

as far as i can see it, DE has a few full-time people who read to at least the more 'important' threads after trying to put them into a correct order of subject (just look through the forum and see how many threads are totally in the wrong place...) and filtering out the 'usual' complain-threads and those where player simply don't understand what the heck they are writing about (surely, you can't expect DE support people to educate them about even basic things that those users could easily find and learn themself). beside that, the rest of the team will at times respond to important threads they are got a notice about from support (or what was discussed in the likely daily meetings) or respond to something they see when 'browsing' through the forum (which they do at least occasionally).

ofc, the way of categorizing all the thready into important/relevant ones and... the others... is not an easy job and often ends in missing some of the more usefull gems in there - not always are views and responds to a thread a usefull indicator for that and neither can those supporter read every thread that has 20 pages or more of posts in it (just try this yourself and stop the time you'll need for it ^^)  the feeling that they don't care is therefore easily assumable for the players but i doubt that it's even remotely as bad as you made it look like. ofc, it would be nice if those support people could 'mark' those threads they deemed noteworthly, even without any written response, which often would need an 'ok' from above anyway - especially if the topics are about the games development and such things... those things are seldom discussed in the open since any information about that someone of them posted at one point and then would be subject to changes in the development later on is usually a reason for a classic S#&$storm from the users later on (you can see such things very often in game forums when the devs whre a bit too fast with saying what they are planing to do and what not...).

keep in mind that not everything people post in here - not even the very good ideas that sometimes pop up can be responded uppon even if they follow it closely. for example, if some player comes up with a good idea about what to change/add to the game and the dev are already working or considering doing just that (or something very similar) - if they would commend about it in the thread, it would easily rated as if they just taken the creative idea from someone else and then maybe even chenge it into something the OP isn't happy about... far too much trouble to do for the devs and it's far better to not respond in any way that can hold up against you, even while looking at it very closely...

I could write a really long reply, but I think it would be wasted, so I'll just sum up my thoughts here really briefly instead:

Your expectations are incredibly unrealistic. And that is why you are getting frustrated.

No company in the world will read every thread in a forum.
No company in the world will reply every thread in a forum.
And no company will implement something because someone thought it was cool.

Long as they let me find a good fight anywhere I go and let me use most all of my equipment fairly equally across the game, personally I’m fine with them releasing content for lower MR more frequently than stuff for higher MR.

🤔 Though there is a lot to do in early days and it might be a little overwhelming, so I also wouldn’t mind seeing more MR gated stuff

You are not the only 1 playing this game neither do i neither any single individual because we are many
What looks like good idea for us can not be so good for EVERYONE
Its like your boss ask do you wanna stay 1h longer in work and get double the amount for that hour you get usually
And you are like OMFG 2x for half the time ill take it
But there is a catch your co-workers need to stay also
And you believe omg they will be into that for sure
But when you tell them about this opportunity they are like nah gtfo
And you realize not for everyone money is the best prize

And same goes with forum ideas
Like 1 returning idea ESCORT MISSION MODE it would be awesome we would love it we would play it
Until you realize how many ppl hate defection

You get banned from most forums if you say anything remotely critical about the game, so we actually have it relatively good over here.

It's totally understandable they have to ignore individual people but moreover it seems like game developers generally don't like to be dictated and think their players are unqualified to have an opinion.

There is also a level of scam, con, salesmanship, PR or what you want to call it, that prevents any communication or conversation from being real.

Usually if you can't spin the narrative it gets a silence veto, which is standard procedure. There is just a large amount of people who don't understand the concept of professional interaction versus relationship.

In their defense I will say the whole twitch and youtube scene turns out to be emotional support groups for people through social interaction, rather than the actual content provided.

With no offense to anyone people are talking about a lonliness epidemic being a top health crisis now, so it's not far fetched to want to seek out friendships or anything, it's just a lack of maturity to not understand corporatism.

I always recommend people get a pet, even better if animal rescue, instead of trying to seek some kind of misunderstood connection with developers thinking they care about you.

It's also if it was your job, what other metric would you go by outside of revenue, if the game is making more money, everything is great right?

Most feedback made is objectively bad, directly conflicts with previously implemented feedback, or would result in a worse outcome/little to no gain for the work required.

And most of the changes the game has ever gotten are the result of feedback. Every single system rework or adjustment has been the result of players asking for changes to said systems. This includes all the movement, melee, and frame revisions. All the adjustments to recent systems like Lich's and Railjack. And all the balance, functionality, and economic changes to the open worlds.

Well yea.....what are they supposed to do? Listen to 50 different people with all different ideas?

It's their game and they're not obligated to let any random person make their game for them. They kinda have actual people whose job it is....not random players with bad ideas.

"Easily" is highly subjective with 12 years of code

Idk. Seems pretty easy to me to lower the drop amount of holokeys and increase their percentage to 100%.

DE has loads of problems with simple number changes. It's unrealistic to ask DE to rework entire systems in a swift manner, but it's completely realistic to expect DE to do any math on their reward and time pacing. They religiously undermine their own time investments which OP mentions and is right about.

If some players can accurately predict development behavior weeks, months, or even years in advance, they might be worth listening to. Just my 2 cents.

Untrue.

DE has implemented things several times just because someone thought it would be cool.

Devs count as someones too. Jus sayin...

I'm a simplistic person, yes I get frustrated at times, though most times I just go with the flow and make fun out of what's around with the different modes and missions.

I'm not going into it but there has been good ideas over the years, then there have been some shockers.

I think most people might post in feedback because they had a spark go off in the mind and feel the need to share it.

Well it's cheaper than Therapy sessions I'd say, don't know about the quality of help though.

Yes DE is making things easier for new players to keep them here, us old players if we're still around means DE already has us hooked, though bad business imo we have feelings too.

OP might exaggerate... a little.

There are stuffs that they changed/implemented/etc.

On other hand they don't do anything about other stuffs. What's more annoying is they "touch" some stuffs but don't care about its problems:

- nerf Vermisplicer -> 2nd'ary Vermisplicer doesn't work (last time I checked)

- implement Steering with Vial rush -> use keyboard instead of mouse, VR still turns of your sprint

- Xaku useless stuffs - e.g. sprint or slow debuf

- Simulacrum needs loading Relays - Dev has it in navigation

I remember Sarpa (and probably other Gunblades) having almost 0 damage. I'm not sure if they fixed it but it lasted for a long time.

If a content is old then it's very unlikely to have it fixed/changed. Sev's having problems (unless you just want spam his melee). Yareli being called "useless" and not having too much changes for her. I don't think she will be fixed (except some buffs).

This is literally all Railjack is. It was shoehorned into the game because someone thought it was cool. Now it needs artificial stimulation to pretend like it's a good use of development resources.

The developer's job, if they want profit, is to provide what the market wants.

This also ignores the fact not all developers are even in a position where they are actually designing game systems; they're just doing what they're told. It isn't any different to how people who build houses aren't the ones involved in actually designing the houses. These builders could be the best in the world, but if the one who designed it left fatal flaws, then well... it falls apart.

There's already multiple examples of the more vocal part of DE having horrible ideas themselves. I'm also not sure what difference it makes if DE listens to bad feedback on forums vs bad feedback from content creators or Twitter.

Youtubers have more sway than non Youtubers here on the forum and on reddit.

Jim Sterling's video led to DE changing how they handle prime frames and weapons. QuiteShallow's video led to DE doing what they did with melee and weapon mods. Some of us are here because we think we matter, some of us are here because it's a community, some for questions, some to vent, others a mix of aforementioned reasons, others for reasons I can't think of at 3 in the morning.

Also of note is DE doesn't care until the embers of discontent become a conflagration.

Didn't you watch the 10-o con stream? They just dont spend time on reworking or improving old content since they dont think it matters or makes people play more, they are focused on making new stuff.

And frankly you cant blame them for ignoring feedback - thousands of people all wanting different things, plenty of posts are just noise and bickering...  no one even has time to read it, community managers might give them selected feedback or summary for a week something like "everyone thinks Yarelly is too weak and that holokeys take too long to farm" without any details, so there you go.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Even the official mega-feedback threads are pure formalities since most of the problems posted there get ignored - you can look at what got changed to the recent frames, ei Lavos only had few tweaks and improvements  (like ult targeting being the significant one) but his major fundamental problems that everyone agreed on, with painful controls, elements, incompatibility with Helmint etc - all got ignored.  Deimos took A LOT of hammering the same complaints with dozens of threads being angry about the same issues before DE acknowledged them and changed things (ie mandatory animal capture that was broken on release and vault bountes timegating and bugs)

Everything I've seen them add recently has been more and more convoluted grind and layered RNG to extend very limited content.  Everything seems to be about getting the most money and engagement numbers possible with as little work as possible.

They don't even listen to what people do and don't like.  They go purely off play stats.  People are playing the new thing for the new gear but complaining about it.  All they care is that people are playing it because they want the new thing, not that they don't enjoy it.  Every single change they make can be traced to grind increase and artificial longevity.  I cannot remember the last time they made a positive change to the game that the community asked for without it being some kind of monkey's paw wish where it was actually worse than what we had before but sort of what we asked for, twisted around.  It's every single time.

Can you explain to me how universal vacuum mods was a negative change? That was certainly requested by players many times. Cross-play/Cross-save have been requested many times, DE is in the process of implementing it - I assume that will be positive.

  • It is unfair to suggest that DE never makes positive changes based on player suggestion.

As much as some people would love to believe that it is so, listening to feedback =/= bending down doing it.

Now that your "easily implemented" and "very important" feedback was not sucked off and ingested, let's complain about it.

DE would need at least a hundred more staff to read every single post on the forums: plus this is General Discussion, they rarely enter here as this area is intended for players to communicate amongst themselves. as much as we'd like DE to respond more often to appropriate threads in the right location, they are busy, you know... running the game that is the very reason we're all here...
