Can the appearance of the regular version of weapons be a skin for their special variants?

This is a fairly minor request, but similar to how it is possible to make Warframes and Companions look like their non-Prime counterparts, could we have the ability to do the same with Primed and other variants of weapons? Maybe even being able to do so with the Primed Exalted Weapons as well as those affected by Deluxe skins?

Yes! I'd love this! Don't get me wrong the Prime weapons generally look great, but I like my low-key fashion frame loadouts, and sometimes I feel nostalgic for the "skana, boltor, akstiletto" phase of my warframe progression.
