Trade Chat is way more hostile and competitive than I remember.

It is a pretty funny story given the other seller's unjust outrage. Luckily the community as a whole seems to still be pretty good in chat, although I have encountered a few individuals with unreasonable demands that rage when they don't get their way.

Not part of the story, but I do have a dislike for the mechanic in which a player can whisper something to you and then block you immediately after.

God, this reminds me of a trade I tried to do a while back.

Some guy sent me a message about a mod I had listed for 20p. I failed to respond after 1 min (I was probably still in my orbiter fiddling with a mod or something).

I sent him a message along the lines of, "hey, sorry about the delay, I was in my orbiter. If you still need that mod let me know."

He said he found another trader for it, so I told him I understood and then told him to have a good day and take care.

For the next 10 minutes he proceeded to try to guilt trip me about not instantly responding to his trade request and that I "owed him" the extra 5p he paid to someone else for the mod. I had to ignore him after about 20 messages of this crap.

Some people are just impatient and/or salty. Most of the people I encounter are chill and totally fine to do trades with, but every once in a while you hit that one odd guy who just flips s$!# about the silliest stuff.

Now OP... Imagine that happening in real life lol...

But I get what you mean... I have a guy messaging me for something he wants... Then I told him to invite... Nothing for a few mins... Then... I message back... Boom... User is ignoring you...

What!? It was you who approached me!

Remember this wise words for the rest of your online experience in warframe, since it's a free game -and a top one for quite a while now: warframe is a wretched hive of scum and villainy. It's the wild west.

If you expect everyone to shoot you in the back and steal your horse, you will never be caught off guard.

==============

Personally i never accept random invites, and wouldn't have stories like yours since I'd block that other guy since his first message.

Trade chat is pretty toxic, hostile, and cumbersome to work with.  It'd be nice if DE would set up a Market where we could use a few things, based on Mastery Rank, and people could just search for stuff.

They could set up a web site, wouldn't that be awesome? I already have a name for it: warframe.market

What do you say about my idea? :D :D :D

Well, you had one bad experience with the trade channel and everything is outright bad? I would have blocked the guy and moved on.

But on a sidenote:
Some guys on warframe.market deliberately change your price. If you had 90p as price, the message will say "/w Dunkelheit Hi! I want to buy: 90p Set for 70 platinum. (warframe.market).
This happened to a friend and he, smelling the scam from a mile away, whispered back: "fuk u"

Now he tells me about the experience and I say: "report him on warframe.market, they do bans for scammer". So my friend reports the guy on warframe.market, including a screenshot from the conversation.
Result: My friend got a warframe.market ban for a couple of days, because of his language and the guy gets... nothing :D

Funny story, your stuff your price, anyone doesn't like it? too bad, every once in a while you'll get a market price "specialist"   that knows everything but still seems desperate for plat, just ignore those and carry on

I get those multiple times a day. A single trade advertisement can get multiple users saying to me the "correct price"

"that bp is free", "that bp is 5 pl in market",......

Sometimes the trading chat can feel like the wall street stock exchange.
So if your regional trading chat is feeling a little to crazy for you, than you can always change the region to somewhere where the players are less aggressive.
Example: I pesonally I try to avoid the NA English chat, and generally trade in the EU chat.
All you do is change the region settings and you are there.
And if you switch the language settings to, than you will be directed to the diferent language servers of that region. (If that is also what you are looking for)

That guy would hate me as I allways look at the lowest price if they are in 100+ I go for 30-50 plat  as in any game auction house I allways put it 50-75% lower. Unless its so low that its no point like item already at 10p.

But warframe i don't trade alot as there is no auction house and I refuse to sit in a trade chat spamming when I could be playing. Don't wanna be inside a mission when I get a offer for I find that abit rude having ppl wait for your mission.

I think DE should incorporate a real shop into the game. It would simplify things and remove a lot of this kind of issues. Though, OPs post was an interesting read, so I suppose current system has some benefits 😉

Most (everyone?) probably knows this already, but why not use warframe.market. If it wasn't there, I would have probably never traded anything in the game. Something like the trade chat seems like the worst possible way to buy or sell stuff.

Something like this has been suggested probably many times before: Replace the whole Dojo trading post mechanism (it is as cumbersome as it is, even without the trade chat), but instead let it be a buy/sell terminal for a global market. Or better yet: have a global buy/sell terminal in the Orbiter (and a shortcut in the menu, as for everyone else). In this case the trading post in the clan Dojo could be exclusive terminal for just the clan (+visitors?) / hush-hush trading between players currently there. That would enable an exclusive (discounted) trading between friends ;-).
