Music improved my PvP in games like DaoC and WoW. Less destractions from game sounds and more blood pumping from Immortal or something else blasting in my ears. The only games I cannot listen to music while playing would be Battlefield, DayZ and Overwatch, I need to hear them footsteps approaching.

most of the time i go for the Mass Effect trilogy OST, and other, mostly instrumental soundtracks from other games or series or movies, unless im doing a low level relic farm, in which case i listen to podcasts.
