A Streamlined Way Of Selling

For a moment imagine this.

When it finally comes time to trade your hard earned prime parts or mods, you look no further than your inventory where you can set items as "For Sale". You then go to your dojo and start advertising in trade chat, like normal. However, all you have to say is "I'm selling -x items-" and afterwards add a command, like the [look] command, that shows everything you're currently selling to those who click on it.  In your dojo, there would be a new type of structure/terminal that would display everything that the clan members are currently selling and give you the option to DM the person selling it if you see something you like. This way of trading would still encourage you to communicate and advertise your wares, but would streamline the process a bit. The allure of negotiating and haggling to get the perfect price would be untouched, but overall it would mean a lot less sitting in trade waiting for your goods to be sold!

I'm open to suggestions as well as ideas on how to improve this idea!

ps: Thank you to my friend for helping me brainstorm ways to make it less complicated and ways to work it into the game without ruining the fun of trading!

isnt that what happens in maroo's bazaar? you can see what everyone is trying to sell. although it's limited to 4-5 items i think mainly to lessen the server load in that relay i guess. but what you suggested is in the game.

now if players actually liked this. they would use it often but mostly is used by new players.(probably i haven't went there for years now).

But.. after reading your post, i got some idea. instead of going to dojo or relay. in trade chat itself, we should have two section of buyers and sellers. where we only see linked item, and when you click on that linked item. you get a new windows with list of players willing to sell that item and their desired price. from there you can contact the buyer/seller.

this way you just have to look for the item you are willing to buy or sell and just contact the person, this also takes care of those crazy auction ideas which have been flooded for years now in forums, now if you are a buyer, you will look for the cheapest price for your item, and if you are a seller you will find the highest paying player, simple.

that would be a good idea. However, before writing it out, i did actually go through tons of different ways and methods of trading and all of them were in some serious need of optimization. The terminal would show ALL things for sale and wouldnt actually be for trading. It would only be for seeing the available items, but have ways of searching through items and sorting things into sets throughout the clan, but only among online members, that way you can actually contact them. For example, say that i only have two of the five parts of a kronen set, you could use the terminal to see if any of my online clanmates have the rest of the set. it wouldnt at all be necessary.

Neo-pets style shop would be cool.

initially when i was brainstorming the only thing i could think about was the vending machines in Fallout 76, but i decided that vendors like that would take most of the fun out of trading because the autonomy would remove all possibility for haggling, yk?

I see it the other way, it would take the non-hagglers out of the trade chat, meaning trade chat would be more specialised for haggling.

What makes you think potential buyers would want to click on your link and then scroll through your wares?

Buyers would end up having to click through many links just to view everyone's list of items for sale.

You're basically removing the filtering system.

Put yourself into the buyer's perspective.
