Warframe Decoration tools are all about customization. We value that quality. The learning curve for new players, however, can be pretty steep. Tools like Surface Snapping and Rotation Axis are ideal for ambitious decorators with particular visions for their Orbiters and Dojos, but they can overwhelm Tenno new to decorating. 

We aim to address that difference! The UI improvements and more discussed below include improvements for new and experienced decorators alike.

Introducing Basic and Advanced Mode

To accommodate different approaches to decorating, we’ve created two distinct modes. The UI team has also done a polish and pizzazz pass on decoration menus!

Basic Mode only offers essential tools: Place, Move, Remove, Duplicate, Rotate, and Scale

  • The new Help window describes Camera Movement, Capacity Cost, and Advanced Mode.
  • This mode is intended for new players and Tenno who just want to quickly place decorations to give rooms a bit of flare. It’s introductory and quick to use.

Advanced Mode houses all the customization-focused tools decorators already know and use expertly.

  • Decorators can press Tab any time to switch between Basic Mode and Advanced Mode.
  • This mode is intended for Tenno who are serious about custom decorating. It’s specific and focused.

New Look

We also refreshed the UI Design overall with this change. Enjoy the new look that improves readability with a Warframe flare!

Controller Binding Changes

Some decoration controls on controllers were adopted from Archwing and Railjack. We’ve decoupled those functions to create controls specific to decorating!

Here are the biggest key binding changes:

Rotate Decoration Previews

Instead of a stagnant image, the Personal Decorations menu will show 3D decoration previews that allow decorators to see all sides of decorations before placing them. Right now, this feature is only available for Personal Decorations.

All Decorations Are Now Scalable

In the past, only Dojo Decorations have been scalable. You can now scale Personal Decorations too! From Dojos to Orbiters, Tenno can customize decoration sizes.

Introducing the Arrival Gate

You now control where Tenno spawn in your Dojo! Place an Arrival Gate and Tenno will appear in that very spot when they visit. Dojos without an Arrival Gate will default to the current spawn system.

We look forward to launching Basic Mode, Advanced Mode, new controller bindings, rotating decoration previews, universal scaling, and the Arrival Gate in the next mainline update! There’s no doubt in our minds that you’ll put these tools to great creative use, Tenno.

Before adding interfaces start by fixing the bugs of the dojo and if you really want to do something useful, it would be to be able to contribute all the decorations at once

That looks nice.

 

Here's an idea for some more things: do something about the Dojo Duel room.

  • Replace or add a bigger one
  • Allow us to select PvE or PvP ruleset. Right now it only has PvE.
  • Maybe add special items like the electric map hazard in Freight Line.

That way we could build our own custom PvP maps, just like we're able to build our own Parkour room (Obstacle Course Architect).

Great news, very glad to see the arrival of spawn pads.

@[DE]Helen Can you give us any information on the current lighing issues in dojo's? is that getting fixed this update?

Yes, this is the one point i allways look for when there is a new post about Dojo changes. I'd have to tear down my entire Dojo to make the changes i'd like to do with the current system.

This is absolutely HUGE, especially the Arrival Gate, something I've been asking for for ages. Now we just need an option to contribute to all currently placed decorations in a set room instead of having to manually contribute to each and every single placed piece. (Coming from someone who often builds elaborate rooms with plenty of detail, this can and will save time and effort).

In a way you already can do that. Open the menu where you select decorations and the chat will appear.
It's not the best but it's something.

This function is built into the Clan Vault! Check "Auto Contribute From Vault" and Resources in your Vault will automatically be contributed to every Decoration you place as you decorate. Screenshot attached! 👇

So basically you just made it available to scale all decorations while not fixing any of existing bugs, keeping quite hard to control tool intact instead of rebuilding it to be more accessable and fixing railjack spawn bug by not cleaning up spaghetti code but by giving players an option to set spawn on top of it? That shows some bad practices...give us option to build entire dojo layout in planner instead of forcing us to redo entire dojo in 5 year destroying timespan...give us more precise options to place decorations instead of clunky decorations which will work from one side but wont from other making most of symmetrical things impossible, give us entire room weather change to make it rain/storm/freeze in entire room instead of forcing us to use special effects which are barely visible and take 99% of room capacity...seriously. Glad you are doing something but slapping UI on top of buggy mechanics won't fix/help us anyhow it's just printing flowers on top of smelly garbage.

This right here, I love dojo decorating and I know certain parts wouldn't work properly but some adjustment to make something like this happen would eventually be nice.

We've definitely had conversations about this! I don't have anything official to share yet, but we see room for improvement when it comes to reconstructing Dojo layouts.

Ever since the Sisters of Parvos update, the lighting of dojos has been broken.

A room will often take up the lighting colors of an adjacent room or even taking the lighting color from a previous room the player was in.

 

Only "fix" I've seen is to place / delete an object, but that is only for the session.

 

Will that be fixed?

 

 

On a separate note, can the Bash Lab's VentKids have their radius that prevents objects to be placed removed? Would make building in that room significantly easier.

(or even allow for them to be "deleted")
