Ah yes, the intermission. You admitted it yourselves. You cant keep up with your NW thing. You never could, even if its just minor content. EVEN IF ITS JUST INTERMISSION THAT DOESNT ADD ANYTHING NEW. No story, no lore, no nothing. Just some worthless cosmetics.

Great change but,

could we just have this as a standard from now on, so that this doesn't have to be a thing in literally every Nightwave?

Im sure it will be this way for future nightwaves, there was no reason to have such a small cap. I get that its probably a high number for certain players but capping at 60 before made ppl that play daily end up capped very quickly and then for months they just ignore the completely useless nightwave challenges while capped at 10k/10k.  I think this change is wonderful and much needed and Im impressed that they made the levels gained retro, wasnt expecting that.

The problem is, the cap of 30+60 is by no means "small". If we're being generous one can do 5 ranks a week (it's more like 4.5 IIRC). That means 90 ranks take roughly 18 weeks to achieve. We're now in a situation where after Glassmaker came a "normal" Intermission of 90 ranks, then Nora's Choice (in these patch notes now also called Intermission and that's how it should've been called day 1) with 90 ranks at first that is now doubled to 180. So we're looking at 270 ranks or 54 weeks of "Intermission".

What makes this extension right now look even worse, when Nora's Choice came after the Intermission, there was at least some new stuff (and some other goodies) in the first 30 ranks. Just dumping another 90 "prestige" ranks on us is frankly pretty terrible.

43500 standing per week, provided you miss zero dailies. 36500 if you count just the recoverable acts.

Every 30 ranks is ~6.9nice weeks of everything or ~8.22 weeks of just recoverables.

90 rank default is 20.7 weeks full / 24.66 weeks recoverables.

So, rounding up the totals for the final 180 ranks, we have 42 weeks of complete sweeps, or 50 weeks of just the recoverable weeklies.

For reference, I believe I clean-swept every week and today just crept into Prestige 74. From this I project that the earliest possible completion is the end of May, while if it's to be completed without any missable dailies, it would last approximately until late July.

I think you should release something new, I mean a lot of people who finished have nothing else to do, since retention of the players was an issue(as you said in many devstreams

It seems like the old main story quests had better replay value than the new ones.

Second Dream introduced the Kuva Fortress and a new universal power. War Within introduced Lua, new mechanics and character creation. Sacrifices had a new unique frame, but no post-quest content. New War gives you an overpowered bow and some Orbiter props, lets you recolor the outfit of one NPC who has absolutely nothing to do until the next story quest, and the only new stuff to use your bow on is a couple of bounties for Caliban farming.

But at least early-game players still trying to become sortie viable get plenty of new content out of the absurdly busted million-damage red-crit nuke bow.

Thanks for the precise numbers.

I've already put my ridicule and discontent with DE's NW execution, which is unlikely to improve as the past has shown, in this thread so... 🤷‍♂️

Changes:

  • Made improvements to lip sync animations and eyeball materials for the Operator.

Any intentions of making the same eyeball material changes to the Drifter?

From a distance and at certain angles their eyes seem to go completely black, it's particularly bad in the Orbiter.

Hey, any chance that the Mesa Prime Montesa Helmet can be changed to be used with regular Mesa?

It currently can only be equipped on the Prime version, and not the basic Mesa.

I prefer regular Mesa over the primed version, and can't wear the helmet that I paid for.

Thanks, love the game, ok bye.

just out of sheer curiosity, why do you prefer the regular mesa over mesa prime?

After over a year, Directx 12 support finally got an update, but it still far from good.

Hitches still happen, some models still look weird(blurry),etc.

Also, I hope you guys update old textures/models to make them look good before thinking about ray tracing
