Haha.  Yeah, my screen being swathed in green napalm irritates the hell outta me, and even certain kinds of sounds drive me bats*** crazy--Ignis, oh god--but screen shake? It doesn't even register.  I had to look at the videos again to verify that it was there.

I should try turning it off and see if the lack of it makes me hurl!

Have any DE staff been Nightwatch Napalm spammed while doing a community stream?  If so, what was their reaction?  I know the devs like to laugh at each other's garish fashion frame and praise the outlandish looks the players create, but have they commented on the absurd VFX overload currently on offer?

 

I wasn't playing this game during the Synoid Simulor's heyday, so I don't know if they had any thoughts on that.

DE has said and done a few things in the past that make me think they hate it when we can't see their hard work.  Simulor, Staticor, Bramma, and more recently the palpable disgust Geoff had for melee animations that were blurred from attack speed.  I know there's more that that, but that's what comes to mind.

OTOH, look at the game we've got.  And not just Nightwatch Napalm.  

Despite that, I still believe that if DE knew both how extreme Nightwatch in particular can get and that the Teammate Visual Effects Slider wasn't filtering it, that the problem would be fixed in fairly short order. 

At this point though, the thought that they might still have no idea isn't much less disturbing than that I might need to change my evaluation of them:  maybe they know and don't care.

I just think it would be a really bad look to get NN-spammed on stream, and they would kind of have to at least comment on it.  Most players I've seen play with the devs are respectful and supportive though, and don't sweep the stage or abuse VFX spam.
