@Vats3

Yes, there will be a communication tool, but could take a while.

The tool is ready, it is already available on the Admin panel of Warframe Alerts (so only for the admins at the moment).

@Zackai

Thanks for testing! Added it to the list.

@Vasko

Thanks man! Also added to the list.

@Dave

Haha, congratulations man!

Wish you guys the best!

@DaftPansy

Added your phone to the list. Thanks for testing it out man!

@RockerKitten

And Corey has been approved! You'll be able to submit new alerts from now on!

PS: Did you know that there is a DE staff member by the name "DE_Corey" here?

You can find him by selecting "Members" in the searchbar and typing out his forumname "DE_Corey".

@TheGreyGuardian

Added your phone to the list and also, you've been approved on the Warframe alerts.

Thank you for your support, man!

Regards,

Taro.

Last week my wife was in the hospital giving birth to my second child

Congratulations man !

Tasks:

*Create an Android Service to handle Updates in the background.

*Persistent notification so you can tell alert update service is running (optional)

*Slider option to control frequency of updates (1-30 minutes?)

*Scrollable graphic UI to match KingTaro's original app.

Cool stuff, it will be nice for old android devices not supporting Air.

Doesn't work on android 2.3 (HTC tattoo), any chance of a version not using adobe air?

[edit]

Shoulda red the thread first. Installed adobe air from that link, now it just crashes with a mesage "air.be.devine.vaha.WarframeAlert has stopped unexpectedly"....

Just suggesting one idea for the future. Turning it into a Firefox/Chrome extension would be useful. It'd be nice to have it just as a little symbol on my browser with a little visual indicator when an alert is up.

This would be great indeed.

This is me simply bumping an awesome thread and yelling at the idiots in it.

Why would DE simply tell us what the reward for "?" Alert Missions is?

Why would they use a question mark, if they didn't want to maintain the semblance of an idea that it is a surprise?

Also, please check out my thread in the improvements section of the forum.

@GTG3000

Yes, as you can see, Dave is working on a version that might work on all the Android devices.

@DaiRaiOh

That sounds like a good idea!

I haven't done browser extensions myself, so might take a while if I'll try to do it myself.

But if there are any developers who've done these kind of apps, feel free to use my XML feed for the app! (XML feed is mentioned in the first post under "Developers")

@Gryphticon

Added to the list, thanks for checking it out, man!

@Saziel

Yes, the app uses internet connection to automatically retrieve the latest alert, so you can be notified the moment a new alert gets submitted.

@Quibbillikins

The Blackberry installation is a .bar file.

I heard that .bar files should be installed through the Windows/Mac, using USB connection. For that, you'll need a Blackberry Desktop Manager (http://us.blackberry...re/desktop.html).

But if you want to be able to run and install .bar files on your blackberry itself, then you'll need LocalBar first.

You'll need to install the LocalBar through the Blackberry Desktop Manager. And once you have LocalBar installed, you should be able to run the .bar installations directly on your device.

LocalBar download and installation guide: http://yohan.es/playbook/localbar/

I don't have a Blackberry device myself, so I wasn't able to test it on one. But I did test it on Blackberry simulators and it worked well on those.

Hope this works out for you and once again, thank you for trying the app!

Also, please let me know if you were able to install the app with the guide I provided. If this works, I'll add it to the mobile page.

@zelklen

Haha, thanks man! Really appreciate the awesome bump!

@DaftPansy

Great to hear it!

But I see you haven't confirmed your email yet, so the account can't be approved at the moment.

I have manually resent the activation code to the email you provided.

So, once you login, you'll be redirected back to the activation page. Please use the code in the email to activate your account.

Anyway, thanks for the support man!

Regards,

Taro.

UPDATE:

I have finished the next testing phase of the reworked android app.All of my posted tasks are in this update except for the graphical UI. I have been developing on hacked devices running CM10 and AOKP version 4.1.2. Because of this I could use some guinepigs to test the app on older devices.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that my hacked phone has a custom texture pack installed, this will mean that parts of the app will look different on your device, such as the settings page.

It crashes instantly when I try to launch it on my Asus Transformer tablet. I'll test it on my phone now

Same thing on my Motorola Droid X. (Talking about the app update in quoted post)

Guess I should note that neither of them are rooted or anything.

Crashes instantly. (com.WarframeOpenComunity.AlertSystem if it's important), then goes into "restarting" state. And then crashes some more.

I use cyanogenmod 7.2.0. Maybe you should add some debugging log or something?

@Synikal and GTG3000

Thank you for volunteering to act as guinepigs... I mean beta testers. With your info (and knowing what version of android is on your devices) I have already found some glitches/Issues.

First, turns out I was using code for the Notifications that was incompatible with older phones: This has been fixes and is ready for testing.

Second, the app crashes right away if you do not have a ready internet connection: I am still working on this.

Third, crash on exit on Ice cream sandwich 4.0.3: Still working on this one.

EDIT: Third has been Solved.

Go ahead and re-download the app (from the same address), and try again.

Sweet, it is working great on all of my devices I've tested!

Can't wait for the graphical UI Update :D
