(PSN)AbBaNdOn_ Posted February 13, 2022 Share Posted February 13, 2022 Ok so you got the mandachord on your ship that can play somachords and any custom music you make with Octavia. The ship mandachord has a simple master voume slider to control how loud the songs blast through your ship... But our custom Octavia songs have individual volume sliders also.... You can mute percussion, base, melody or you can drop certain ones down to 50% or 20% etc... this "can" be crucial for your songs.... The problem I would like to bring up and try to address is the fact that your Ship Mandachord does not respect the volume sliders of individual custom songs.... If my song has a melody at 20% volume and I play it on my ship... the ship bumps the melody back up to 100% which changes how the song sounds. So this can make the song not worth hearing on your ship which sucks!!! So please make ship mandachord respect a songs individual volume sliders!!! -------------------- I meant to make a video of all this and I stil might. But I wanted to say the new volumetric sound system where sounds sound different based on the size of the room your in is really awesome for Octavia.... Sedna-Hydron with the ramp lowered kind of puts you in a "cave" and it deepends and makes octavia music much more rich its AWESOME!! In fact..... I would ask or petition to make your lander/orbiter space count as a 'cave" as far as the sound goes so any music that plays is deep and rich like that also!!!! As you can see in this video I have the melody reduced to just 20% volume. But then when I try to play it on the ship.... am the meody is back up to 100% which makes the song sound/feel different. I know its not a bug. But I would really love if the ship took the volume sliders into account.. I cant be the only one who thinks that either. Im jealous of everyone who has musical talent. I have none. I just experiment until I get something I like, I often get stuck making patterns or wanting symetry. Sometimes I spend hours trying to come up with stuff only to scrap it all lol. I had a really basic tune on purpose and this guy liked it enough to try and tweak it, So he made changes, wasnt really my taste but it made my try to improve it. He tried some other instruments and volume and which made me try other stuff. It was like a nice back n forth of ideas which lead this song. Pretty similar to the first but where I had the melody muted completely the other guy turned the volume back up. I heard something cool in there, totally changed the melody and muted it... I think the song is now killer and has a sinister sound. Whereas when my ship plays it with 100% melody its more happy lol. I try to make my songs be like really good background music. Something you can listen to endlessly and not get sick of, because thats most where I listen to octavia music, on my ship or in chat lol. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
