Something I’ve been Wondering

With the announcement of possible cross platform and progression/save.  I’ve been wondering what the plan might be if people have created multiple accounts on different platforms.  I know myself, my PC crashed shortly after I started the game years ago so I started playing on PlayStation.  I’m wondering if we’ll have to start a new account if they get the cross save working or if we can choose an account to be our main and overwrite another we may have?  I’ve only got like a week worth of progress on PC where as my PlayStation account has years.
