Volt's Electric Shield does not properly combine elements

Volt's Shield in the in game tips section says that the Electric element of the shield will combine with Cold/Toxin/Heat to create their respective damage types but this does not happen in game.

When shooting through the Electric Shield with a weapon that only has Toxin modded on to it, it will proc Toxin and Electricity separately instead of Corrosive.  This seems to be the case for all weapon types (Primary, Secondary, Archguns, hitscan and projectiles).

Maybe take a screenshot of the in-game tip, because the tip is wrong.
