Same, made for a great crowd control status. I used Blast + Shock on my Zenistar when it came out, would make anything walking through its AoE breakdance either until dead or for its duration.

On a related /note, Mirage's 2 Augment is still broken, enemies get drawn to alarm consoles as intended,
but the CC part from a Blast knockdown that's then supposed to prevent them from actually triggering alarms doesn't happen anymore.

But anyway, yeah, Blast procs - and damage resistances while we're at it - need some looking into,
I'd certainly welcome the old AoE knockdown back if nothing else.

I would love if Gas and Blast were two variants of a similar idea (doing AoE damage from a proc), and here's how I'd do it:

Gas: Clouds do the damage type of whatever caused the proc (without the gas damage), while also giving the clouds a status chance that scales with the number of Gas procs.

Blast: Procs cause a small explosion centered on the target that deals a % of the damage that caused the proc as pure Blast damage; these explosions gain a critical multiplier with a critical chance that scales with the number of Blast procs on the target.

Making AoE procs more viable would alleviate Viral's dominance in the meta, while giving single-target weapons the option of an AoE effect that some people believe is necessary.
