"I am Ember." - Requested by Fomar

I am Ember.

The fire in my blood burns with a greater fury than the roar of my enemies as they scream towards me. Yet like a smoldering torch, they do not understand that only a small amount of fuel can turn me into a blazing inferno. The energy dancing through my arms and down to my fingertips does not give them pause, even as they see the air lick flames about me, but in their genetic hubris – their malcontent, they will learn a very dire lesson.

Purity. Consequence.

Both of these things focus me in my way. Guns roar and swords like shimmering waves of death may rend flesh, but nothing cleanses the filth before me as thoroughly as flame. These outcasts, these pitiful horrors know nothing of such matters. Their twisted minds and pestilent bodies only harken a quicker end.

But it shall be glorious, awe-inspiring and terrible.

I flick my hand in their direction; the horde of creatures made of molten flesh. Flames leap from my fingertips, caught in a whirlwind of joyful destruction as it circles me in a ring. As they blindly, malevolently step into the fire, their bodies writhe and burn to cinders. Perhaps one time I may have laughed at such a sight, but the fire provokes only disappointment; anger, perhaps, but it is fleeting as they are purified.

I take my steps through the crumbling pillars of carbon as they disintegrate about me and I feel a sudden swelling of pride and excitement. This rebirth of the Tenno shall be born in flame and discipline; like a Phoenix of heathen myth.

It will grow, burn and enlighten. As Tenno, we carry the torch of rebirth; I carry it with pride.

I am Ember.

That was good, but I personally invision Ember being more... Feisty? Like the kind of person that would revel in combat, sort of like a bad guy in an anime that has a sadistic pension for pain and the means to dish it out.

Then again, I more or less caught myself reading it as if it were the script to some sort of trailer to get people excited, and my inner voice naturally ramped up toward the end and it felt off to me.

That's pretty good. I sort of read it like a voice over to an Ember trailer, like Roujou did.

That being said, my problem with this kind of thing, and what makes it not quite gel in my head, is that Ember (and the other Warframes) are not characters in and off themselves. They're specialised combat suits worn by multiple characters. I suppose it could be possible that the Warframes fit the personalities of their wearers, but I dunno.

Personally I believe that as these suits are bio-mechanical it's not entirely impossible for the suits to have some personality or atleast alter the personality of the Tenno that is using them.

As for the original post it was well writen and it kinda makes me want to write up something for Volt. :3

That's a fair stance. As you say, it's not entirely possible for that to be the case. Just didn't -quite- gel in my head while reading, even though it was a good piece overall.

It was written more in the mind of a warrior assuming the identity of their frame, rather than that of the person. They are an asset in service to a more... 'divine' cause, rather than "I am Mark, a warrior." or "I am Jane, a support technician." They embody their WarFrame much like the Samurai became a servant to a lord. Their own life was unimportant, but to say "I am Samurai" is more than just stating your job. It's a mindset, a station and a lifestyle.

That is my take on it anyway :)

i thought it was good to but i agree with Roujou, i can't really picture ember saying this poetic stuff about herself. when i picture ember. i picture a phoenix that can't be stopped, and won't be satisfied till she burns every planet to ash. but thats just my look on things, but overall it was good, espically from a poetic form of view. but with how energetic ember is, it just doesn't seem like her. she looks like a warframe "punk" that person that is always getting into trouble, but she has all this power harness up to let loose. but anyway good writings, ive read most of them. keep it up.

I am Ember.

Fire is my friend. Fire is my life. Fire cannot harm me; rather, it heals me. Fire can create and fire can destroy. Fire was the gift to the ancient race of humans from their deity Prometheus. I control the fire, and the fire controls me.

As I look onto these Technoycyte-infested...Infested... I cannot help but feel pity for those life forms that were so twisted and corrupted beyond recognition. They come. Searching. Yearning. For what, I do not know. But that is not my job. My job is to exterminate them. But now, I feel as if it is my job to cleanse them. And fire will cleanse them.

Flames of catharsis. Flames of purgatory. Flames of suffering. Wildfires. Infernos. I channel them all.

Beautiful, dancing flames. I hold that picture at the forefront of my conciousness. Thought became deed. Fire erupts from me, channeled through my Warframe. My Warframe itself is ablaze with flames of glory. These flames pose no threat to me. They are comforting, and feel cool to the touch. But not for these Infested. They burn with unsightly convulsions, struggling to rid themselves of these flames of mine. But my flames do not extinguish, unless I will them, the target is burned down to the last molecule, or if I somehow lose my concentration. That will never happen as long as I stand for the Tenno cause. I watch on, as these Infested finally submit to their demise.

As the Lotus confirms my mission is complete, I bathe in the flames, reveling in their glory.

My fire shall never be extinguished. I shall burn forevermore.

I am Ember.
