Jinpu
So with new mods and other changes? Are we going to have Data Wipe in update 7? Just Curious.
Namacyst
Explain Data Wipe.
skydevil10
think he meant if we're going to get a character reset. as in Everybodies accounts will be reset since this is beta and not the final game.
DanPaul7
No, atleast not without it being optional. They won't wipe characters unless it's to fix something severe.
Arlayn
I doubt any big wipes will occur in 7... or 8 for that matter. MAYBE 9 or 10 but I doubt those as well. They may not have a wipe at all since it seems they are trying to avoid this. Edited February 28, 2013 by Arlayn
Zinn
That's unlikely, but they are most likely going to reset your mods and reduce them to "dust" or something similar that allows you to construct the new mod/artifact things. At least according to the livestream and some posts I've seen on the forum.
Notso
No data wipe is excpected as they said they will create a system where you can change your mods into the things that are replacing them. If there was a data wipe no such system would be necessary.
_Rue_
i wonder if that's an option or if i'd still be able to sell mods for cash given that option. i reckon 100+ pages of mods is a lot of cash >_<
[DE]Steve
No wipe. As much it would make my like 10000000% easier. I don't like resets.

Renan.Ruivo
This is why I love you people. Making sacrifices for the community, nom nom nom. Being an EVE veteran that has been there since CCP was taking their first steps with an MMO just like DE, i'd say that this is indeed the secret to success. As long as you don't admit to people that you wear $1000 jeans.

Yehlan
Id welcome at the very least an option on an individual basis to wipe, personally id like to start fresh with a new content patch to explore how the game changes in its entirety and not just how it affects my high end warframe and weapons. Though I do agree a global wipe would be something worth avoiding, allowing those who welcome a wipe to have that option could be equaly beneficial to improving the game. Examillion
Because of that impending update, I sell my mods for cash. It might bite me in the &#! but at the moment, this is PvE. Being a demigod supertank is hardly my idea of fun. I build my Warframes and only use limited mods to get some extra "oompf" without going overboard. All these mods got me plenty of cash to get blue prints and a good reserve if I ever needed something big.

I'm trying to save all my credits for the clan stuff DE_Steve was talking about in their livestream. Here's hoping whatever they implement for it can be gotten through credits. That's not anytime soon though.

Examillion
I'm trying to save all my credits for the clan stuff DE_Steve was talking about in their livestream. Here's hoping whatever they implement for it can be gotten through credits. That's not anytime soon though. I am sitting around a comfortable 180K+ reserve and it is only growing when I keep farming and selling off my mods. Doing these constantly allows me to keep ranking up my actual level, investing into guns that can be instantly purchased and used or researching and assembling guns. I have yet to watch the livestream but the talk of clans sounds promising.

phatloots
they wouldnt have introduced the market and being able to play with real money. if they were going to wipe all your stats and levels
FateZero
they wouldnt have introduced the market and being able to play with real money. if they were going to wipe all your stats and levels Yes they would, in a case of a wipe, everything you spent platinum on is refunded back to you. How can you call this beta if the cash-shop is live? (Why isn't everything unlocked? How can I test everything? I want to help, you should give maximum Platinum.) Many F2P betas have proper functioning cash shops and Warframe is no exception. Beta for us is as much about testing the game as it is about testing the Market and the experiences of both paying and free players. With this feedback we can respond to very serious issues quickly; for example we recently dropped the Platinum-only Pro system in favor of super-charging with a Foundry alternative. Is there an account reset planned after Closed Beta? (Is that 'fair'? What about leaderboards?) No. We initially intended to reset often but the vast majority of players do not want to lose their progress despite the bumps and bruises of beta. We do reserve the right to reset if something forces us to. However, if your account is reset you will get all your Platinum back. There will be a one-time optional reset after beta for people that want to sacrifice their progress to re-spec everything. Leaderboards will be reset (and likely running on weekly, monthly cycles anyway). What happens to my Platinum in the unlikely event of a reset? You will get all your purchased Platinum credited back to your account. Edited March 1, 2013 by FateZero
Joemomma
There probably won't be a wipe until full release. You would be naive to not expect it.
REDACTED
According to Steve in the Livestream the frame upgrade trees have once again been redesigned. So our frames will get a forced reset, just like update 6.
