Lua’s Prey: Hotfix 32.2.1

On the Okuri Tails Ephemera could you make the secondary energy color, which currently colors nothing, affect the upper set of 4 back tails? I don't really like the back tails, and they conflict with every Syandana I try, and this way I could color the top tails black and make them mostly invisible.

if they "fix [their] bugs so fast" they how come i've been waiting 3 months for a basic issue to be fixed

Yeah, I haven't really played Warframe in that time since this has made quest progress impossible for me. I can't even fix this with external software because I'd run the risk of being banned. The whole situation sucks, and not knowing whether DE even knows or cares about it at this point makes it all the worse.

2) DE put the stuff into rotation at sub 1:20 chances of drop.  Yes, after 20 minutes of survival you've got less than a 5% chance of earning a piece of Voruna.

The numbers are not right. 1:20 would be 5%
You get 8-12% chance for all Voruna pieces on Lua, Circulus, Rotation C

Voruna Blueprint    (12.24%)
Voruna Chassis Blueprint    (8.16%)
Voruna Neuroptics Blueprint    (8.16%)
Voruna Systems Blueprint    (8.16%)

So...how much does one get after a 20 minute run?  That'd be 15-20.

In SP Circulus you get 80+ of plasma per hour, even more if smeeta cat buffs you.
Because plasma is a drop, any additional resource booster should work, too. (not tested)
That is 1h to 1:30h (in worst case) for 100plasma - the price per piece if you buy it.

Regarding the weapons, the parts are tradable, you only need the bp to drop.
So maybe you can simply buy missing parts from other players, rather than farming plasma.

Overall I personally don't see this as too much of a grind .
But that's me, maybe because I don't have anything else left to do in the game.

Sure about that? When i tested it it worked fine. Don't forget that the counter still depletes naturally, heavy attacks don't add so you need to weave in normal attacks as well

Also, the mechanic is capped at 90% final value.

But it behaves weird. If you mod in some heavy wind up speed, like with Amalgam Organ Shatter, and spam heavy only every other heavy attack uses up combo meter, so one has 90% efficiency and the next has 100% or more likely just slips through without being considered for using the combo meter

E: Ok no wind up speed required, even at base speed spamming heavy attacks has that behavior

I am actually pleased with the changes in the NPC defense mission, seeing Chipper play hide and seek, taking cover and acting like a normal guy who try to save his own ass made me almost jeez my pants. Well done, only had to revive him like 5 times against 20+ with standard AI.

Now copy paste this behavior into the so called specialist/agent/noodle from other defense mission and we good.

the gimped and neutered everything about him and his kit and only compensate with useless tweaks no one asked for.

not even asking for community input just throwing the baby out with the basket.

I ask the same thing, why grendel eat was nerfed to 5, when saryn, volt and mesa can nuke all the map? I lilke the rework but the only 5 enemy eat is not good

I think that's pretty easy to answer.  Feast doesn't care what level those enemies are and is relatively simple to optimize. The frames you mention all flatten out eventually.

All of these quotes have been accumulated, so that everyone involved can understand some perspective.  Allow me to offer mine.

1) This is a mainline.  It added a cinematic that has at most 3 active characters rendered on screen at once...takes less then 5 minutes, and introduces one warframe, a heavy axe, a rifle, and more cosmetics than I'd like to count.  6 months ago we were promised that the year would end with a whole new kind of open world....

2) In the interim what did we get?  A buggy re-use of existing archon battles largely stretched to the point of breaking by damage modifiers, kahl of duty, and more gatcha mechanics than I'd really like to mention in a game that was once "free to play done right" and is rapidly becoming more toxic trash.

3) But what about the "immediate" fixes?  Well, this implies a fundamental issue with coding.  Stuff is going out to cert and getting pumped, testing is happening either after cert or more likely cert is being passed with known bugs, and in the brief period between physical cert and roll-out people are fixing low level bugs.  Bugs that should not have gone to cert, or are so trivial as to be a joke.

Now, why is this not a "compliment" about how DE rolls?  I mean, everybody pumps out MVP and fixes it on the fly these days, right?  Yeah, the Minimum Viable Product is only viable if you aren't stringing together miles of spaghetti code and breaking things.

If you'd like an example of how bad DE is at basic controls you have no farther than to look at the corpus ship update.  During the Deadlock Protocol DE reworked the corpus ship tileset.  Cool.  The issue is they screwed up about 5 locations where things spawned outside of reachable zones.  That is to say you cxould see a medallion on the map...but it was literally unreachable.  You could even prove it by swinging the camera through walls, and see them there.

It took about two months to consistently fix most of these.  Do note the conjugation there.  In short order it'll be two years since the release and they still have medallions on the corpus central jail tileset that spawns a medallion over top of the last prisoner tube on the right, and the only way to get it is to be lucky enough to hack open the tube, wall latch to the top, and hammer the action key while looking up to collect it through the wall.  2 years later and they can't fix a core gameplay bug...and I'm not going to try and touch all of the cosmetic bugs that people find everywhere.  Far as I'm concerned core gameplay is a valid ask, while whining that your scarf clips through a shoulder is...somewhat of a non-critical ask.  Not any less painful mind you, as that scarf cost real world money.

Maybe I'm just the jerk though.  Maybe I've found the one issue in the whole game that has lingered for years because of the way syndicate medallions used to potentially all be worth 500 standing, so finding all 8 was a foolish errand.  No.

1) For a game about space ninjas it's frighteningly easy to perform a stealth takedown on a slight incline and phase through the floor.

2) Speaking of, most of my losses in defense are because a wandering idiot got killed on a set of stairs and couldn't be revived.

3) Speaking about revivals...have you ever been incapable of a revival because the game just decided nobody could interact with you?  I know my pets have.

4) Speaking of those pets...railjack....  Glorious buggy mess of railjack where a pet can be alive, you can leave the railjack, you can enter a ship, and the pet is just dead.  No explanations, just dead.  This is a game mode where it took months to give you invincibility during the unskippable boarding animations so you didn't just die during the cutscene and spawn into a ship with almost half of your revive timer gone because it was "so cool" to watch to 400th entry into a grineer astroid base, pulse turbine, etc...

I hope I've made my point.  I hope you can understand that a hotfix minted within hours of a major cert release is not a sign of a good developer, but a developer willing to push out the required minimum and patch what it knows is broken.  That's not to be lauded, and it screams that this was a last minute punt something out the door release because the Duviri Paradox, despite being teased years ago, is so far away from MVP, let alone good enough, that this is what had to happen.

Now, why do I support all of the above?

1) The release is based upon a low drop rate item as currency (plasm).

2) DE put the stuff into rotation at sub 1:20 chances of drop.  Yes, after 20 minutes of survival you've got less than a 5% chance of earning a piece of Voruna.

3) But DE put in a store...  Yeah.  50 plasm to buy the piece, 50 more to craft it.  (50*2)*3 = 300.  So...how much does one get after a 20 minute run?  That'd be 15-20.  300/20=15 and 300/15=20.  That means 300-400 minutes to be able to buy the part and have enough materials to pay for the crafting...and you need 1 + a sacrifice to the helminth...then the melee weapon, then the rifle, then the cosmetic in the shop....Wow.  250 just for a captura scene.

4) Let me recap.  DE did good by not binding us to RNG entirely....because another Braton Vandal situation would suck.  They then setup the economy to be terrifyingly bad, such that the 1:20 drop rate would statistically match with the average time required to earn the things...which means they actually just removed the ability to be totally screwed by RNG rather than making things better.  This is one step forward in perception, two steps back because those keen enough to see it are also keen enough to check your math and see the rather bilious structuring which underpins the economy.

5) Finally, I remember the days when Mesa sucked.  3 beacons were needed to  form one key.  Each key had a roughly equal chance to get a part, so you might spend a couple of days getting the key only to require 7-10 of them to get all of the parts.  Now we've got 20 minute runs with a 1:20 or less chance of rewards, that taken even longer.  Seriously DE, I know you want grind.  That said, 400 minutes to get a frame's pieces, 12 hours to build, 72 to finish.  This is getting a bit stupid.

Why not just leave then?  Well...I can't say that doesn't sound enticing.  Thing is, when people just leave DE continues to pretend nothing is wrong.  It's sad, because these forums are filled with people just wanting things to suck a little less....but we'll only see progress on that if somebody famous or influential pushes.  Until then, it's fun to be able to see DE getting worse almost every year...in a sort of extended train wreck.  Maybe less fun, and more a failure you cannot look away from.

In my opinion, a free game like Warframe is, with thousands of hours of content and almost immediate hotfix, deserves some praise. There are PAID games that do not receive the care that this game receives, even with the numerous problems it has.

Lua’s Prey: Hotfix 32.2.1

Changes

  • Updated Grendel’s Nourish ability description to properly indicate that all energy sources are boosted, not just from Energy Orbs as previously stated.

  • Added a new backer to the new enemy damage resistance icons to improve visibility.

  • Added greater pitch variance for Voruna’s ability howl sound FX.

  • Updated the sound FX of the wolves in Voruna’s Leverian.

  • Adjusted the sound FX of the Speargun Voruna Idle animations.

  • Decreased the Perigale’s sound FX pitch range and overall gain.

Conjunction Survival Changes & Fixes:

  • Removed a tile from the Orokin Moon tileset as it was not playing nice with color blind options and the black and white filter from the Lone Guardian (panels not lighting up for example).

  • Fixed Nekros’ Lua Thrax Shadows of the Dead applying their Life Support drain in Conjunction Survival missions.

    • Also fixed the enemy waypoint still appearing above their heads.

  • Fixed Lua Thrax enemies losing their waypoint if they get ragdolled.

  • Fixed the Lua Thrax enemies’ spawn sound FX stacking.

  • Fixed the Lone Guardian in Conjunction Survivals getting stuck in certain areas of the Orokin Moon (Lua) tileset.

  • Fixes cases where enemies could fall through and die when crossing a certain bridge in the Conjunction Survival missions.

Fixes

  • Fixed crash that could occur while starting a solo mission.

  • Fixed crash when hovering over Caliban’s abilities.

  • Fixed crash caused by a player extracting but leaving behind ability elements that affect enemies (notably Zephyr’s Air Burst projectiles).

  • Fixed being unable to start the Chimera Prologue Quest due to your evil twin not leaving the pillar in the Personal Quarters where it can be started. What a rude guest.

  • Fixed the Lotus Amaga Skin not being able to be purchased separately.

    • This was always intended to be a separately purchasable item! You can now purchase this skin from the in-game Market or in the Lotus customizations screen (if you have completed The New War Quest).

  • Fixed the Golden Mend Collection not being available in the in-game Market until you completed The New War Quest.

    • We want players to be able purchase the other goods in the collection, regardless of Quest status. Completing the Quest unlocks access to the Lotus customizations where the Amaga Skin can be equipped.

  • Fixed the Battacor’s alt-fire, Mausolon, and Trumna causing self damage instead of self stagger.

    • Lua’s Prey was a mainline update, which meant some things could slip through the cracks - this just happened to be one of them. As mentioned in Devstream #166, self damage changes will be released at a later date.

  • Fixed Grendel skipping the downed state if Nourish is cast right before.

  • Fixed “Rise of the Machine” Nightwave Elite Weekly Act (Kill X enemies using a Necramech without getting destroyed) progress resetting to 0 after Nercramech timer expires in the Conjunction Survival missions.

  • Fixed Voidshell Armor not appearing at the top of the customizations list when equipped with default skins and vice versa.

    • This will be the default moving forward if we release more Voidshell skins with Armor attachments. For now this fixes Voruna, Frost and Volt’s Base/Voidshell Armor.

  • (Hot-dropped earlier today) Fixed certain players getting a “failed to update account” error while trying to complete Incarnon Weapon challenges in mission.

  • Fixed Clients visiting Host’s Orbiter getting pulled into the Arcane management screen when Host opens it.

  • Fixed Grendel’s Voidshell Skin emissives breaking after exiting Pulverize.

  • Fixed the Imugi Prime Leg Plates not appearing when attempting to equip them on your Warframe.

  • Fixed several Syandanas having offset issues when equipped on Voruna (base and Voidshell Skin).

  • Fixed Sigils equipped to Voruna’s Voidshell Skin appearing on the floor.

  • Fixed clipping issues with the Eos (base and Prime) Shoulder Plates when equipped on Xaku’s Kagura Skin.

  • Fixed the wolf busts having blinding FX in the new tile within Yuvarium and Circulus

  • Fixed the “Arcanes” button in the pause menu using the “Mods” description.

  • Fixed several UI issues occurring when scrolling through the “Tune In” list of past Nightwaves.

  • Fixed black screen at the end of Voruna’s ability videos.

  • Fixed the Skaut’s broken hatch texture during The Mountain Pass cinematic curing The War Within Quest.

  • Fixed a minor visual glitch when fighting Grineer Scorpions.

  • Fixed script error with Voruna’s Shroud of Dynar ability.

  • Fixed script error with Voruna’s Ulfrun's Descent Passive.

  • Fixed script errors with Voruna’s custom HUD.

  • Fixed script error with Grendel’s Pulverize ability.

  • Fixed script error with Trinity’s Well of Life ability.

  • Fixed script error when hovering over Incarnon Weapon upgrades in the Arsenal UI.

Known Issues:

Still no solution!!!

Sorry for my english, it's not my native language.

I noticed a problem with the Galvanized mods that improve the crit - Galvanized Scope/Crosshair.
Hotfix 31.6.4 (2022-07-14) fixed the following issue: Fixed stackable buffs for Galvanized Scope/Crosshair being removed all at once when the first stack's time runs out.

The thing is, I'm pretty sure his new functionality is a bug, all other mods lose 1 stack at a time and reset their duration, but this mod loses all of its stacks over the course of what should be the duration of a single stack.

On Headshot Kill: +40% Critical Chance when Aiming for 12s. Stacks up to 5x.

Each stack should last 12 seconds, or if that's what is on the wiki it should last 2.4 seconds each stack, but there are times when it loses 2 or even 3 stacks at once ignoring the correct duration of the buff which leads me to believe that in the change of losing all stacks at once there was a bug that doesn't count each stack with its individual duration like the other Galvanizeds mods.

Could you verify this? I could be wrong but I think this is more of a bug on the same level as Frost Avalanche preventing enemies from getting status procs, and if I remember this bug launched with Frost and stayed in the game until Gauss was released. I don't think even player itself is aware of this problem with Galvanized Scope/Crosshair mods.

You are categorically wrong.

Remove the "content" from warframe that is grind.  That is to say 24 hour builds, 12 hour artificial waits, 72 hour artificial waits, and you're left with realistically about an hour of unique gameplay.  That'd not a bad thing, but it does get at the heart of how us people are much easier to please than we'd like to admit.

You have to buy slots.  Period, end of sentence.  No, trading your time for platinum and spending it on slots is not free.

If you buy just one Prime Access, it's more than the price of a AAA game.  That's sans cosmetics...because the full pack basically covers 2 AAA games.  Better yet the old unvaulted packs with basically two prime accesses for the price of one died with the new Aya/Regal Aya system.  Unironically this was sold as "more customer choice" but in practice means that you actually get penalized for buying old stuff.

Not enough?  Look at the content DE introduced in 2021.  It literally was more cosmetics than content...which lays to rest the idiotic idea that this "free to play" game is not making back their money without ever releasing significant content.

Now, let me introduce something that genuinely made me  happy.  Around the time Warframe came out so did Terraria.  If you buy at full price it's A priced, not AAA.  It's been updated for years, and the cost to us is nothing.  It's now capable of supporting mods...and the closest thing to a cosmetic is the kind where you play the game and get to wear the cosmetics that were dropped.

So over the same time I got more updates from Terraria, more content, more stuff that was not orphaned, and the Terraria devs aren't known for straight up lying through the art of promising anything to make the community shut-up.  That's something to laud.

Should I continue?  My favorite points are:

1) DE had to censor "Ghoul saw when?" on Twitch because they promised it for years, and eventually a streamer called them out.

2) The constant drama with their creators.  I don't want to touch this, but the short is those who represent your brand are your brand.

3) Modular archwing was promised by Steve literally years ago.

4) Nightwave was promised to be better than Alerts.  Alerts were too old, and Nightwave would offer bigger and better rewards while driving forward the narrative of the game....until each nightwave got longer, delivered more cosmetics, and actually made sure that if you got a new frame while in an early nightwave, like Voruna, you'd not see access to their cosmetics for month...when alerts could mean that cosmetic was earned the same day...or after some weeks.

5)  The drama with Rivens....

Yeah.  DE is making plenty of money.  They aren't doing anything for free.  They shouldn't either.  Thing is, when they released content I was happy to give them money.  Modern DE, without RNG stretch, releases so little content it isn't funny...and it's why I cannot laud them.  You are wrong about assigning altruistic motivations, which makes you categorically wrong to believe they should be lauded when they are already being paid.

Sorry, I don't have time to read every line of your text, I have a lot of things to play, including Warframe, I think that's what people currently lack, have more fun and complain less, hug friend.
