Do daily tribute boosters get used before we collect now?

Before I used to see a booster and close the game. The next time I would open it with more time, I would collect the booster and play with it. I even looked up posts about this, which is why I was doing this. Last night I saw a booster and closed the game, like I do every time. This morning I opened it and there was no daily tribute to collect. So do the boosters get used before you even accept them? And how does that work when there are 3 to select from?

If it is a singular choice booster for your login reward the timer will start as soon as the page comes up, even if you haven't clicked on it or you shut the game down. If it gives you more than one choice for login rewards it won't start the timer until you have picked your choice reward, so shutting down the game won't start the timer.
