Are screen dimming programs safe to use?

My PC monitor, even with the brightness set to lowest, is still way too bright at times.

I found a nifty 2017 program called DimScreen that lowers the screen's brightness even further than the monitor's settings permit.

It's not the sort of program that'll set off any anti-cheat mechanisms, is it?

It shouldn't.

It's hard to say for sure, since anti-cheat tends to be hush-hush over what's OK and what's not, but:

1. The website says it's written in AHK; in my experience, that works fine with Warframe, and

2. It's targeting the display rather than messing with Warframe files, which is the big no-no anti-cheat tends to look for.

that doesn't sound like anything that's going to be injecting into the game? if it isn't then i'm not concerned.

these are all AutoHotKey Scripts? that changes everything. AutoHotKey tends to be blacklisted by name.
the pre-compiled forms might be ok as long as they aren't just wrappers for AHK

Thanks. I had to ask just in case, I'm not really computer literate so I can only guess that it doesn't modify RAM let alone warframe files.

Yeah, I had to ask partly because I accidentally left DimScreen on while I started up and logged into warframe. Panicked for a moment there, but I don't seem to be banned so it should be safe to use.

Or you could try using different programm, like f.lux for example.

The game also has a built in brightness setting, I know it's very over exposed sometimes. Did you try it and it wasn't enough?
