A multicolored cloud gnawing and boring through metal and shields. Even the infested we were fighting were devoured by this buzzing cloud. Those of us who fled were the lucky ones, but a few of us, me included, saw the source of this...revolting plague. Believe me or don't, but it was a warframe. A warframe I had never seen before. It was bulky and tumorous, and its uneven shape oozed that buzzing horror. Its body was covered in crawling pests bringing food back into the warframe's entrails, much to our disgust and horror. Although it makes me shiver, I recall its slow moving form turn to us instantly while we were sneaking away, and make me feel itchy.

I only briefly caught a glimpse of something else traveling with it producing some sickly light around a corner before we reached the escape capsules. Was that aa second one? How many of these horrific things are there?

Concept: Kankritos is a heavily armored, mobile hive filled with genetically modified insects it breeds, raises, and trains to assault its enemies and overcome any resistance. Utilizing the versatility and adaptability of one of the hardiest creatures, Kankritos bores through its enemies and turns them into mobile breeding grounds for its many insect types regardless of what the victim is made of.

It shares a friendship and rivalry with Shilleboch, another wielder of things seemingly small and insignificant.

Insect Types:

Pantir: The oldest of Kankritos' hive: These general-purpose insects are raised on sentient biometal. While they do average to everything, acting as a jack-of-all-trades -master-of-none, their diet of sentient flesh has given them a ferocious need to devour these adaptoids whenever they make an appearance. You can adapt the skin, but the organs remain squishy and tender. Because of the sensitivity sentients display, the pantir have developed a silencing effect with their wings, making Kankritos almost inaudible. they also possess a taste for the orokin, but with them long gone, they can longer enjoy this tender meal.

Grushwaz: "Borrowed" from corpus scientific facilities determining insect uses as terraforming agents or cheap, living batteries, these insects absorb shield energy thanks to a glowing proboscis that grows from their heads. These termite creatures also secrete an enzyme designed to interact with warframes and boost their shield regeneration and rigidity.

Kutko: Another 'long term borrow', but from the grineer. In an attempt to improve armor designs, these insects were stolen from Tyl Regor's lab and improved upon by Kankritos. With their extremely thick carapaces come very strong jaws for males and wings for females. Trained to work in tandem, the kutko fly in pairs with the females using the males as shields. They adore all things metal and so ravenously devour anything made of metallic minerals. Due to their unfortunate origins, they hold a particular inherited hatred for the grineer and so have a refined palate for their armor and prosthetics. They are also extremely protective of their home and can act as boosted armor for Kankritos when needed.

Unds Ko: Found in a few infested derelicts, these insects have had their genetic information spliced into the other strains, giving them immunity towards the infestation. These insects adore all things flesh, but their sharp teeth and mandibles are too soft to clip through anything harder than bone. They also developed a reputation as flesh-knitters and help wounded tenno receive field patching with the greatest efficiency a tiny insect can offer.

Appearance: Being a mobile hive, Kankritos is uneven and swollen in many areas and appears to have several layers of bee-like hive coating their body. Their chest juts forward like an angular display, while their left shoulder and upper arm are rounded out. Kankiritos' head resembles a trapezoid with the smallest top connected to the next and the two lower points facing forward and back and narrowing into sharp edges. Jutting from the left side of the warframe's neck are two, quad-segmented antennae that are always jittering about. The back of its right hand possesses the same organs. Its feet, giving the impression that they have been gnawed away, are now just three 'stilts' that bore into the ground with each step.

Its arms and legs are very thin, though sometimes a watchful eye can see them grow before insects leave and buzz around randomly. Those returning from a hunt often run into these limbs, making their surfaces lumpy and irregular, but they are just as thickly armored as the rest of the warframe by the little bugs to protect their food.

Idol Animation: The insects emerge as a solid cloud from Kankritos' body, buzz around, then slowly approach the warframe and it makes a gesture of 'hugging' them before they separate and return into the cavities of the warframe's body.

Kankritos shifts about erratically as the antennae on its body jerk around aggressively. The insects jettison out of Kankritos' body, loudly and angrily buzzing about at what could have been a threat before relaxing and returning to their home.

Base Stats:

Health: 125 (400 at max rank)

Shields: 160 (455 at max rank)

Armor: 475 (Due to insects)

Energy: 0 (Uses timer like lavos since the insects need time to repopulate and rest. Energy boosts the cooldown by invigorating the insects' metabolism)

Speed: 100

Abilities:

Hive Thrall: When Kankritos' health drops below 10%, the insects of its' body grow enraged and emerge to attack and devour all threats around it. All enemies in a five meter radius are paralyzed by the furious swarm, and Kankritos is given two seconds of damage immunity in order to run away. Has a thirty second cooldown (the poor little things have to rest after gathering so much food).

Friendly Rivalry: A """secret""" passive when paired with Shilleboch. Damage by insects is boosted twenty percent (for any and all damage types) and cooldowns are lowed by five percent.

Main Abilities:

  1. Next Generation: Kankritos unleashes the insects chosen (toggled by the user) against enemies. 5/6/7/8 enemies are affected and tied up for ten seconds. If the enemy is killed, the swarm will jump to the next and the cooldown will reset. It lowers by one second for every jump. When finished, the swarm will bestow the caster and any nearby warframes (10 meter radius) with the benefit that hive gives. Can also be directed at a warframe to used that process instead, but at 70% reduced benefit (not much material to work with)                               Enemy:

Pantir: The targets get attacked for 40/50/65 (Diminished based on armor and/or shields. Limits any unaffected enemies from noticing the tenno around them) points of health for ten seconds. If the enemy dies during this time, the swarm moves on to the next target until the ability ends. The targets flail around trying to get the bugs off of them.
Grushwaz: Targets attacked for 30/40/45 (Double values if against shields) points for ten seconds. Mechanic identical to Pantir.
Kutko: Targets attacked for 60/70/75 (+10 if against armor. Diminished based on shields) for ten seconds. Identical to Pantir.
Unds Ko: Targets attacked for 35/40/45 (Double against flesh) for ten seconds. Identical to Pantir.

      Ally:

Pantir: Ally gets the 'Silent' trait for ten/twelve/thirteen seconds, allowing them to sneak about, even during a firefight, as the sounds of battle will distract the enemy too much.
Grushwaz: Ally gets the 'Slogged' trait for ten seconds. Shields are replenished by 20/30/40 points every two seconds for ten seconds. Insects have a fifteen percent chance to 'catch' a laser, healing the Tenno's shields for four percent the damage the laser would have done. Has a 2% chance to replenish 100 points of energy per laser 'caught'.
Kutko: Ally gets 'Armored' trait. Their armor is boosted by 100/150/200 points for ten seconds. Has a ten percent chance to catch a bullet, adding five percent of the bullet's potential damage to the tenno's armor.
Unds Ko: Ally gets 'Dusted' trait. The Unds Ko will flutter off of the tenno body to attack any surrounding enemies for 5/10/15 points of damage for two seconds and return to heal them for that amount for ten seconds. Those that stay increase regeneration by two points every .5 second
  2. Unwanted Guests: Kankritos grows an immense hive on its body then rips it off and plants it on a surface, creating an 8/9/11/12 meter area of denial with a slowing effect (10%). Any enemies in the radius are attacked. Can also be planted on an enemy, enthralling them and causing them to slowly shamble towards allies and acting like a mobile area of denial. Only Kankritos and Shilleboch know if that's just a warframe power or a parasite doing that.
  3. Intrusive Thoughts: Kankritos lets its insects utilize a stealthier approach to gather material and food and will identify any enemies around. They weaken enemies by 40% of their best defensive stat (flesh, shield, armor). There's a ten percent chance that the afflicted will go berserk and start attacking allies. Affects enemies 5/6/6/7 meters around Kankritos, or can be placed as mines that affect enemies in a 2/2/3/4 meter radious when triggered.
  4. 10^6-to-one: Kankritos becomes a veritable living plague and becomes surrounded by a cloud of all insect types that surround it in a dome shape of 10/11/12/14 meters in diameter. Any enemies in the zone receive continuous damage and see their stats drop significantly. allies in the zone receive a single random boon per toggle with a cooldown of thirty seconds per. If Shilleboch is on the team, then Kankritos' insects cause random status effects to enemies caught in the sphere.

My very first Warframe idea. I don't know how to draw, so no pretty pictures, but I figured I'd rewrite and redesign the whole thing since I better understand the game now. More importantly,, however: Why not?
