VladYvhv
Manics showing up in Sanctuary Onslaught and Elite Sanctuary Onslaught seriously break the flow of gameplay on that mode. This is due to 3 things. Their ability to become invulnerable, their ability to turn invisible, and their ability to just suddenly appear right in your face and attack before you can respond. They are supposed to only show up on "high alarm" alert level grineer tileset missions, according to the wiki. Since there are no alarms in SO/ESO, these guys really shouldn't be there in the first place. I've experienced many a squad member (sometimes host) rage-quitting after encountering these guys in the middle of a zone. It's especially troubling if the host is the one who rage-quits, as it forces host migrations. Host migrations in SO/ESO tend to cause rage-quitting by other squad members because you lose effiency (timer doesn't stop counting down while you're in the loading screen), all stacks/charges/time left on buffs and abilities (and thus all of the energy spent on those), pet health (they take damage while we're waiting to load in), and health/shields (we take damage while we're waiting to load in). Please remove the maniacs from the Sanctuary modes.

IDystopiaI
Manics don't target companions as far as I can tell. They do a lunge melee aimed at a player which can clip a companion but the manic is not targeting it. I've never seen someone quit because a manic appeared on a floor in SO/ESO. Are you sure the host was not just leaving because a round completed? Usually there is enough AOE spammed in sanctuary that manics just die without anyone trying to kill them. There's also more than enough enemies around that you can kill them instead for efficiency while ignoring the manics. Some of the rooms do have alarms with terminals that can be hacked, for example the three layered grineer map with a drill in the center.
VladYvhv
I do know that they were leaving because of the maniacs. The round had not completed. They specifically cussed the maniacs, then left. This has happened numerous times, both with hosts and clients leaving. Additionally, not every random public group is set up for nuking SO, or is using AOE stuff. Sometimes, it ends up with 4 of us ranking up weapons that don't have AOE attacks, and that at their levels/mod configurations, can't outright kill a maniac. As I usually use revenant, I typically just reflexively enthrall a maniac if they appear in front of me. Gets them out of our hair for a bit. This is where they're really a problem. When you're going into SO to rank things up, so don't have the stupidly op setups.
