sly_squash Posted June 7 Share Posted June 7 Primed Fever Strike is a very popular mod on melee because viral (and to a lesser degree, corrosive) are popular choices to do elemental damage. If you explicitly slot a cold/elec mod in your mod config alongside Primed Fever Strike, then if you pick up the decree that adds heat damage everything works fine and you get viral+heat / corrosive+heat. However, if your weapon has cold or elec as an innate elemental (either via kuva/tenet weapon innates or just from being a special elemental weapon), then the heat elemental gets slotted before the innate elemental and you wind up doing gas damage. This often makes the heat damage decree unpickable and can ruin runs if you pick it and forgot that your build leverages innate elementals to create the damage types you wanted. Please slot the decree elementals last in the combine order (even after weapon innate elementals) so the combinations are more predictable and less likely to cause problems. 5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

In steel path circuit, the only melee weapons able to kill the armoured corrupted don't have any elements, just slash, such that the addition of Heat would negatively affect the chance to proc Bleed. This decree works exactly like a mod in the latest slot, so if you wanted to keep viral (using innate cold/toxin) despite of any decrees, you would need to spend at least two mods. If I have a Cold weapon and a Decree adds Fire then I expect to proc Cold and an extra proc of Fire, not change it to a proc of Blast. If your modded melee has viral, why would you get the heat decree? Isn't viral+bleed+armour strip enough? I get your point, I agree with you, but it's an overkill.
