So that we don't make an augment a mandatory bandaid. See : if you're using it targeting enemies, it applies to the target (already the case), but also applies to nearby enemies as well (new); same thing with your own allies when you cast it look at nothing (spreads around you) or if you look at one of your allies (spreads around them). Before we say this is overpowered due to the DR%, let's not forget Citrine exists. If it would be OP, it would only be if the Gara player was starting to get really button happy and rising the damage stacks of the splinters to infinity, which are limited to your average melee range anyway and consume more energy than Saryn spores that would be generally more effective, unless someone was smart enough to bring defense stripping abilities. I'll take the buff in any shape it comes though. Refreshing it on allies that don't care about it or don't know they can get it refreshed by standing in the expanding Mass Vitrify can get pretty frustrating.
