RainbowDashness 13
lol I am going to link you to my Facebook page and you will see over 200 hundred pictures of Rainbow Dash. http://www.facebook....49213213&type=3 Also I am writing a fanfic for that show. :) Yeah... uh... I am messing around today waiting to head to work when I realized that the album was set to friends only. I don't know how I missed that. Meant to set it as public. It has been corrected. Toastisgood 15
Hello fellow Warframes, or I mean Tennos. My name is RainbowDashness. I am from the U.S.A. I am a brony (for the haters, calling me a pedophile won't get me worked up and it is really old) and I am also writing a story for the same universe that my name comes from. I work at night 10:30 (UTC-06:00) to 5:30. Sleep in the morning, most of the time. Play and write in the afternoon. I would rather joke around with people than be mean and insult (if I did offend you let me know and I will apologize). I hope to look forward to assaulting our enemies with cake together. Okay, look. I've been a brony for quite a while now, so I may know what I'm talking about. I've come to realize why most people tend to hate us so much. Here's a handy dandy little list for you, so you won't have to think too hard. don't incorporate a reference into your name. dumbass. don't reference the show. ever. don't jump to defend yourself. while you may find it necessary, it isn't. never, EVER roleplay as a pony. Just don't. don't expect to be accepted and liked. it's too late for that, anyway. Now please, go away.

Just don't. don't expect to be accepted and liked. it's too late for that, anyway. Now please, go away. This made me grin from ear to ear. I haven't insulted any one but people like you come and insult me. Still, love and tolerate, and it still applies. It took you this long to figure it out? Did you make the list because you couldn't remember cause I find it quite pointless. Now lets go to the list. First, does this apply to Bronies only? If yes, then it is the dumbest thing on here. It's the beauty of the internet. I can make my name what I want with in reason, and my name is in reason. People can call me what the they want, because it's the internet. So already first one pointless anyway. Second, apparently is already pointless because you broke it on your very first sentence by saying you are a brony. Besides its human nature to like and want to show off things that you like. As long as it doesn't go overboard. Third, what's the fun in that. Also, it's encourages discussion and that's a healthy thing. I like discussions, I welcome discussions. Fourth, I have no idea what posts I have done that gave you that discussion. Just because it's my name doesn't mean I am roleplaying as that pony. I will be the first to admit that I don't want to be Rainbow Dash. I would want to be friends with her as she is. Fifth, I never do, but hey maybe I might meet a community like this, that as long as I am civil about, they won't rage at me. I respect them for who they are, and they respect me for who I am. Your last sentence. I'm not going any where, but if you would like to continue as a discussion I would be more than willing to oblige that. FreakyChakra 0
It's just a trend. You don't see masses of people going all gung-ho over the powerpuff girls, barbies, Dora the Explorer, or any other kids show of that nature. It became the coolest 'uncool' thing to like, so all the outcasts latched on. Bronies are the hipsters of the vagabond internet sub-culture. They only like it because it's 'trendy' and garners attention from everyone else. MLP has been around since the 1980's. Nobody was obsessing over it then or after that, up until this new series came out and 4chan went apeS#&$ (though the message and content was essentially the same). The proof is in the pudding. You introduce yourself, identify yourself by MLP for some reason, and claim you're not a pedophile. These are all completely unecessary. I like Slipknot, that doesn't mean I go around explaining that I'm a "maggot" and explain I'm not a murderer or a rapist (though I'm sure there's some that would view slipknot fans as that). I think the new Ninja Turtles show was alright, that doesn't mean I go around identifying myself as a 'turtley turtle mutant in a half shell pizza man' and go around saying Kowabunga. You are throwing it in people's faces for no apparent reason. At least come to terms with that fact. I'm not lecturing you, do whatever you want. But at least call it for what it is instead of acting like you're being crucified by the masses. Aside from my pointless logical analysis, welcome to Warframe :/ Edited March 10, 2013 by FreakyChakra
Tyrian3k 4,549
I think much of the hate for bronies comes from the fact that it's present about anywhere on the net and many people don't even know anything about the show itself who then proceed to jump to stupid conclusions about the personality of a brony. It's basically like racism... People hear rumors (not matter if true or not) and assume that all people of the group are like that. But that's off-topic... Welcome to the forums. If you want to play some rounds, feel free to add me. Also: brony + mail industry = derpy mail? ;)

Aside from my pointless logical analysis, welcome to Warframe :/ Yeah, it was brought to my attention that I was already being defensive and daring people to come at me with that sentence. Wasn't my intention, but I figured I would get it out of the way that they know with my name, and that if your going to insult/troll me, do it without reverting to pedophile. I have talked that way for a while, use to swear, but I replaced it and feel better about not swearing. I also am an atheist, but I can respect the Princess more than any king/queen or president because she goes and personally meets the commoners and parties with them and not just the higher class people. proxus 1
It's just a trend. You don't see masses of people going all gung-ho over the powerpuff girls, barbies, Dora the Explorer, or any other kids show of that nature. It became the coolest 'uncool' thing to like, so all the outcasts latched on. Actually, it's not just a "trend". Many people who like the show are actually very big fans of powerpuff girls as well, not so much barbies or Dora. It has actually been theorized that should PPG have been released in our current culture of social media/internet it would be just as big a deal. This is because Lauren Faust has done an excellent job of making these "girly" shows break the sterotypical cliches usually found in them. I would explain more but I doubt you actually care. If you do, Google is over that way. Wrong again. Nobody obsessed over the previous generations of MLP because quite honestly... They sucked. Now that the show actually has good writing and an excellent animation style it appeals to far more people. 4Chan did bring a great deal of attention to the show, but the popularity of the show has now far outgrown anything 4Chan could have ever imagined. He is very justified in doing what he did. It is oddly socially acceptable for males and females to like Slipknot without any social stigma (other than grandma thinking your new age noise makes you a devil worshiper). However, many people in our society treat bronies with a completely different attitude. Some people hate bronies because a number of the "herd" make their presence obnoxiously known by interjecting ponies into everything. This of course does not personally bother me because, like most of geek culture, this seems perfectly in line with how we work. Trekkers turn everything into a Trek reference, Star Wars fans have a force or yoda joke up their sleave at all times, Whoovians think everything looks like a dalek, etc. Other people hate bronies because they are so ridiculously insecure with anyone in society thinking outside the magical guidelines they belive to be what's considered normal that they lash out at anything they don't understand. I have also been on the same side of the ridicule that RD has and trust me it gets very old very fast. I always find it funny, while being a full time employed, tax paying, law abiding, heterosexual male, somehow that gets completely cast asside the instant someone finds out I like MLP.... We don't think MLP:FIM is "alright". We absolutely love the show. I don't speak for RD or any other brony, but I personally can't get enough of the fan contributions to the community. From animation, art, comics, music, plushies, etc it is simply amazing to see how much untapped creative talent there is out there in the world. If someone came in here named LordVaderness, ObiWanTenno, NinethDoctor, LocutusOfBorg, or hell even IronMan, you wouldn't ridicule them for throwing their love of those IP's in your face so why is having a pony name any different? Oh right, it's not, and I have never once in my life recieved the level of ridicule for identifiying with one of those shows/movies/comics as I do with MLP. We don't act like we're being crucified by the masses. We are, however, constantly ridiculed for enjoying something out of the ordinary and it's really a shame since the thing we enjoy so much has actually made a lot of peoples lives better. Aside from my pointless logical analysis, welcome to Warframe :/ Pointless, probably. Logical, hardly. Sorry if this derails your thread RD, wouldn't be the first time I/we get in trouble for sticking up for something we enjoy :( I look forward to, hopefully, seeing you in game sometime. Welcome to WF and stay Pony my friend. :) P.S: Welcome to all the other new people in the thread :D -Proxus (and just because I feel obligated to drive some people insane)
RainbowDashness 13
It's alright Proxus. I welcome and encourage discussion. All I am asking is that you respect me for who I am, and I respect you for who you are. Some how that has turned into hate me for who I am, and I respect you for who you are. Can't we go back to the respect? This community is still new, and as I said I hope to be civil about it. I am just thankful that Lauren Faust did such a good job, and the person who replaced her thankfully is still doing a good job. "I don't speak for RD or any other brony, but I personally can't get enough of the fan contributions to the community. From animation, art, comics, music, plushies, etc" I have over 200+ pictures of Rainbow Dash on my Facebook and more on my harddrive from different artists on DeviantArt. I also am contributing with FanFiction (not uploaded yet, still revising first chapter of 6,000 words).

Toastisgood 15
big text Gonna slice this up and reply in fragments, instead of a huge wall of text. First, does this apply to Bronies only? If yes, then it is the dumbest thing on here. Obviously not. It applies to anyone from any fandom who expects not to be prejudged for it. Second, apparently is already pointless because you broke it on your very first sentence by saying you are a brony. I cannot BEGIN to describe how wrong you are. It wasn't a reference to the franchise, but a disclaimer I used in hopes you'd take what I said seriously. Apparently it didn't work. Third, what's the fun in that. Arguing shows insecurity and frailty. You know, two huge stereotypes of the fandom. Fourth, I have no idea what posts I have done that gave you that discussion. That was advice. It was all advice. Fifth, I never do, but hey maybe I might meet a community like this, that as long as I am civil about, they won't rage at me. You already crossed that line. Sorry bud. RainbowDashness 13
Obviously not. It applies to anyone from any fandom who expects not to be prejudged for it. Well then it doesn't apply here. Everyone gets prejugded, you got prejudged, I got prejudged. Although I have to say, I got prejudged better than I expected. Besides you and one other person, I was met with open arms or they didn't care. I cannot BEGIN to describe how wrong you are. It wasn't a reference to the franchise, but a disclaimer I used in hopes you'd take what I said seriously. Apparently it didn't work. Even if you use it as a disclaimer it's still a reference to the show. The minute they see brony, they think of the show. Apologies if I gave you the indication that I didn't take you seriously.Arguing shows insecurity and frailty. You know, two huge stereotypes of the fandom. Now this is a first. I never heard that before. I am not quite sure that arguing = insecurity and fraility. It can create discussion which is really good. Also, if taking peoples insults instead of them being directed to other bronies means I am insecure and frail, I guess there is not much to do about that. That was advice. It was all advice. Not sure if it was actual advice, but if it was thanks for it but I don't reaelly need it. I don't think you give advice and at the end tell them to now please go away. You already crossed that line. Sorry bud. I did? Do tell, because I would love to hear this. Pretty sure I have been nothing but civil to people, but if you can find a post where I wasn't, I would love to see it.
