Friend who merged and got a new name 'not on my friendslist' but I am on theirs

A friend merged their accounts and they still see me on their friendslist. I had their console account on my friends list, but in the process of merging the game chose their PC name as their new name. 

• I appear normally on their friendslist and the online status works
• Their old console name appears on my friendslist, but marked offline for 37 days while they're currently online
• Their new PC name does not appear on my friendslist

Restarting my game did not fix this problem

 

Expectation: For them to be on my friendslist under their new name with working online status and some kind of system notice 'previously known as: console name'

It works now! Says his new PC name and 'Linked accounts: console name'.
