(PSN)CUInc
Title basically. I remember reading that Venus(real life)is extremely hot, has a dense atmosphere with a crap ton of CO2 and Sulfur. So when did Venus become of snowy planet with cold and warm cycles? Or is it just ash?
(PSN)Unstar
Quote Hidden and entrenched in the mountainous peaks of Venus, the Corpus practice their industrious craft. The superstructures built here are a testament to the inventive Corpus engineers that have settled in regions where lingering Orokin technologies still moderates surface temperatures. —Venus Fragment From the trivia section of the wiki (so take it with a grain of salt, though it's generally pretty dependable): Quote In reality, the surface of Venus is way too hot to support life. However, Fragments obtained from Venus show that the Orokin cooled the planet enough for life to thrive. From the same source, (potential minor spoilers for Vox Solaris and The New War below): Spoiler This is further confirmed during the quest Vox Solaris, where it is shown that the Corpus utilize ancient Orokin coolant towers to regulate Venus' temperature. The New War also suggests that the Corpus have been utilizing these devices incorrectly. Notably, after gaining control of the planet, Narmer raised Venus' temperature to a more habitable level, causing grass and trees to spread across the surface. Merkranire
Huh. That explains the different landscape later on. That’s cool, I like having a lore reason for it I think the big chimney things leaking silver are Orokin terraforming devices? You can see other giant Orokin structures that look like some kind of segmented cylinders that I believe are orbital platforms that de-orbited and crashed on the planet (you come across them while doing Railjack stuff)
(PSN)slightconfuzzled
Inspired by the Kendrick/Drake beef, Vanilla Ice attempts a career revival, but making a diss track against Ice Cube. Ice T attempts to intervene, because he believes that Ice's should work together, not against each other, as thats not very Icey behaviour, but then Ice Spice gets involved, and the beef escalates. Extra beef. Because of naming conventions and confusing, somehow the Spice Girls get involved with the beef, but then Elon Musk being the attention seeking bozo he is, also enters the beef, but he brings with him, well stupid money, and he starts to clone Vanilla Ice. See up until that point, everyone just thought it was dumb typical celebrity drama, and not anything actually serious you know? Just dumb stuff kids talk about on social media, but now we have actual human cloning going on? Fast forward two decades and their are many different Ice Factions, filled with clones of Vanilla Ice, Ice T, Ice Cube, but also many other cold themed people, like Snow Patrol, Arctic Monkeys... Its really bizarre and frankly, a little hard to believe and yet... Thats what the future is, the entire solar system is a battlefront in the Ice Wars. The first of the Ice Wars. Many planets are Iced over during these wars, including Venus. 94% certain this is what will happen and hence...
0_The_F00l
I believe this has been explained , Orokin arrogance tends to be the primary driver in most such situations. Venus was terraformed by the orokin to have properly temperate regions where life can be sustained , after the fall of the orokin empire the terraforming was not maintained and the corpus being greedy S#&$s that they are overdid it and now the regions are overcooled resulting in the thermia fractures. When narmer gained control they dialed the level down to more manageable levels.
