Devshorts #25 - A Few Requests From TennoCon

Hello, would it be possible to fix the bugued codex entries? For more information on the current bugs, there's the codex section in the wiki, which explains the current problems with enemy entries and codex items.

For enemies that are no longer available but have a codex entry(12 ennemies in total) , please put them in Simaris bounty list, I made a subject about this.

For example, there are 3 deimos enemies that don't appear, one of the 3 (deimos leaper) hasn't appeared since the arcana bounty update, while the other 2 (deimos swarm mutalist moa and deimos swarm mutalist moa eximus) have never appeared in Deimos.

2) Wish the lead animator would consider reworking the core non-parkour movement in the game (walking, running, sprinting). It's the only area of Warframe that hasn't been updated since ~2014 and both Warframe and Soulframe need it to be improved. These are areas where games such as CODMWIII and Ghost of Tsushima excel and where Warframe lags behind.

DE can improve the movement system without having to make any changes to bullet jumping or aim gliding or to the current speed of movement in the game.

The main things I want for Warframe's non-parkour movement are the following:

1) more human-like animations. I'm not talking the speed of the movement. I mean the actual animation of walking, running, sprinting, unarmed and armed. We know for a certainty that the majority of warframes are infested human bodies. The operator and drifter are humans who control the warframes. They should move naturally. Every warframe cinematic shows them moving like humans, so the in-game animations should as well.

That includes having IK-based animations and proper locomotion. I'd also like to see faster lateral movement when aiming (a sorta shuffle instead of a walk) like CODMWII added when you move left to right. You kinda keep your momentum when you're moving forward and then quickly turn 90 degrees.

2) more natural movement system, specifically when changing direction. Right now, when moving and changing direction, the character/vehicle behaves like an inanimate object. They slide in the direction of movement and the character rotates on a pivot when changing direction. For vehicles, changes in direction are the same way, and don't factor in the forward movement when changing direction. Vehicles should move on a curve when changing direction.  Right now, they just slide in the new direction (cardinal or ordinal direction). Vehicular movement is only straight line movement. That makes the character and vehicle movement feel quite floaty. It's also not very immersive (that's something WF doesn't really do well).

I don't believe those improvements would be incompatible with bullet jumping and aim gliding.

Some other examples of games that have more natural movement systems:

Horse riding in Ghost of Tsushima and Red Dead Redemption 2

D2 Skimmer

Anthem Flight

My focus for all these is on the animations, with special focus on how the characters/mounts/vehicles animate when changing direction. All of these games (with the exception of Destiny 2's core walk/run/sprint animations, which are equally trash) have Warframe beat when it comes to movement animations and the way change in direction affects and is impacted by forward movement. None of these games have fundamentally different movement systems. Walking/running/sprinting is walking/running/sprinting. Horseback riding is horseback riding. Hoverboard riding is hoverboard riding. The way the Iron Man/Gundam-like suit flies has no discernible difference with how archwing flight works.

I'm also missing greater care in these animations. I saw the soulframe character animations and they looked much more fluid than what we have in our operator.

I saw the tiktok recently ...regarding the change to silver tier drops of Forma from void relics.   ( increasing the BP drop to 2 ) ...

What this does in reality is add another 24h of cook time to the foundry.   Ya... we get more BP's faster... but this is not a reward.

Instead:    consider this.

BRONZE - 1 Forma blueprint
SILVER - 1 PREMADE Forma

Just a thought.

I'm sure DE thought of it, but considering Forma is one of main income sources for the game I guess 2 blueprints is enough compromise.

Valid point...   I didn't consider the 3-pack, and how well it sells.

Another option would be... if your relic was RADIANT, you know spent them 100 traces... and you get Forma... that one could be built at least.

Cheers.  :)

3.) Uncommon (Silver) Forma Blueprint rewards from cracking open a Void Relic will now give 2x Forma Blueprints instead! Look to a future Hotfix for this change.

Has this, or will this be implemented soon given the hotfix pause or was this missed as well?

SUBJECT 1)

So still nothing about those platnium bought items (weapons, warframes, pet cosmetics, color palettes, and the extra slots already paid for!) bound in a player's alternate account being able to be transferred over from the old account to your main account upon the LINKING of two accounts.

SUBJECT 2)

And still no mentions about any and all existing primed warframes on said alt account being transferred over to the main account upon LINKING to the main account.

    - Opinion(s) and Commentary:

Sorry DE if I'm beating a dead horse here, but with more then $200.00 USDs worth of items having been bought and paid for with platinum bought directly with real world cash, with $140.34 USDs worth of platinum being bought and then spent on cosmetic items, extra slots, weapons & warframes over the last two years on this account alone. So I'm kinda going to have to drag this one out until I get a definitive answer on the above subject matter.

After all, if I'm going to merge all my accounts into one, I want to make sure I don't lost these sorts of things once I LINK my accounts. An "oops, you lost your items!" isn't going to cut it after the fact.

I can't just merge the two accounts and simply have only the items that existed on the alternate account that don't already exist in my main account be copied to the main account --- even though that seems like something the system should be able to tell rather then a forced full copy and paste job of data when dealing with accounts that are considered "copies" due to early system migrations of a pc account to the Nintendo Switch (or from pc to any system for that matter.)

DE doesn't want cloned items going rampant, so I understand why I can't simply merge my switch data back Into the orginal PC account it came from.

But if the someone from Digtial Extremes could kindly address the items above listed under subject 1 & 2, that would really make not only my day, but would help relieve the stress of atleast 30+ other users in the forums who are still waiting for a reason why the above hasn't been officially addressed yet in an earlier forum, in a subject posted months back by [DE]Juice I might add.

I had to include data from my nintendo account's purchase history for Platnium purchases - Note that nintendo only allows users to view upto the past TWO years worth of purchases, so i couldnt give an exact amount for the last 3 to 4 years of platnium
