Staticor needs an upgraded variant, or at least a higher riven disposition.

It's pretty widely agreed that staticor is one of the most creative, unique, and fun secondaries in the game... and that it has massively fallen from grace over the years. Really, it needs to get a glow-up in the form of an upgraded variant like prisma, vandal, or tenet.

But for god sake, what is with it's riven disposition? 0.85x. At least let people with a riven enjoy the damn thing. The next 10 weapons up the chain of popularity have a higher riven disposition than this. I'll grant most of them are quite weak (except for Dispair, given it's incarnon adapter exists) but the next weapon up the chain that matches, not has a lower disposition, but matches Staticor's disposition is Kuva Brak. That weapons is a monster. Even the worst kuva weapons outpace Staticor by a huge margin. The next weapon up the list is Afuris prime, with a disposition of 1.00x... A recent prime... Followed by Catchmoon with a riven disposition of 1.10?! Then Aksomati prime at 1.00. Then getting matched again with Kuva Twin Stubbas at 0.85x...

I'll spare listing every single weapon up the list and skip to the first weapon more popular than Staticor that gets a lower disposition. The 22nd weapon up the list of popularity from Staticor, with a usage statistic of double that of staticor's, is Tenet diplos with a disposition of 0.75x.

There are 21 weapons above staticor in popularity that have a higher or equal riven disposition, before we see one with a lower disposition. And it'd be one thing if they were all really weak early weapons, but some of them are Kuva weapons, and a fairly recent prime with stats to match. Ether you guys REALLY hate this weapon, Or you have somehow overlooked one of the most creative weapons you guys have ever made, that at one point in time was topping the usage charts.

It's disposition should be at least 1.00x. And still that wouldn't even bring the weapon up to mid-tier with a god roll riven. But it would at least be usable for the people that love it.

I'd be happier with an upgraded variant, but I know that's a lot more work. Ideally you'd bump the disposition and we'd still get a variant eventually.

Just look at it, please. It is literally the only secondary in the game I like.

It'd probably be a good idea to do a game-wide riven disposition pass, maybe massively raise the cap and set some of the really abysmal weapons up to something like 3x. The riven system's felt extremely neglected for years at this point. Not that I like rivens to begin with. But at least make them worth the effort to get. A whole rework of the riven system in it's entirety would be and even better idea tbh. It was never up to par with what it should be.

I've hoped for a Tenet Staticor for so freaking long. I love that weapon, still use it occasionally on Mag (because it's great thematically and quite OP with her), but you're right it could deal with a bit of upgrade. Tenet, Incarnon, Vandal, idc, anything

What (I think) really pushed Staticor's usage numbers up and thus Riven Dispo down,
was a bug where uncharged shots got the full damage and AoE of charged shots for a while there,
so ye, it still "suffering" because of that nowadays doesn't seem quite right.

That said, mainly, I want the self-stagger AoE / severity reduced, it is seriously overtuned,
feels like it's actually larger than the damage AoE lol, and you get heavy stagger effects even at the outer edge.

Like, it's such an excessive "nerf" compared to how, for a long time, Staticor was actually one of the few
freely spammable AoE weapons back when most other options just insta-killed you with self damage,
again it feels like the weapon is getting punished now for things that happened in the distant past.

Still waiting for a new batch of Tenet weapons.

As for the staticor, I don't understand why they still kept the weird zap knockdown you get when you hold the fire trigger and something gets in your melee range.

The falloff guts it, and it doesn't even have a high average of status application / crits.

It's just a relic of a bygone era, gathering dust after all the nerfs.

Pray if a tenet version ever comes that it gets the same treatment as the Opticors in terms of trigger types.

I always forget about that mechanic. It is really, really annoying. That does need to go.
