Another Grendel Locator Thread

I am a returning veteran that stopped playing around 2018, and I have been getting caught up on quests, Baro gear, Steel Path, and helminth. Nourish seems like a no brainer for a good number of builds so I looked into getting Grendel, got the locators, then hopped on the forums and subreddit to figure out what the RNG on the component drops is (they're guaranteed upon successful extract). What I found was many complaints about the format, which is to say mods being disabled, and warnings about the difficulty. So I read up about it, prepared myself and my loadout, hopped on recruiting(because i don't have friends), and got set for the worst.

 

Y'all, I had a blast.

 

It reminded me a lot of the old LoR raids how our success hinged on squad setup and cooperation, instead of 4 randos playing Warframe near each other which seems to be the case these days. I know for tryharding endless runs there are optimized lootframe squad setups where spovas get yelled at because someone else has growing power, but these were relatively short missions and we were all just trying our best, and pausing between missions to discuss strategy. We ran a Trinity, Dante, Octavia, and while I wanted a Shield of Shadows Nekros (since the shadows scale with the enemies without mods) to draw aggro from def objectives and excavators, we didn't end up getting one or needing one. I'm kinda wanting to taxi noobs through it just to try out different squad setups.

 

Warframe has a lot of content, and I'm glad for the diversity. Not every swing that DE makes is a hit, but I'm not at all convinced by those calling this a miss.
