How to play Warframe as a new player

Question

I am 240 log in days on warframe, have completed all quests and star chart. Have loads of frames, weapons and still having fun.

I have seen many new players come and go. I have seen many posts about ppl trying to introduce the game to friends and them quitting after a short time.

So, I thought what can I do to help.

1. Warframe is confusing, it's meant to be.

2. It's not meant to be completed in a day

3. It will frustrate you, a lot

4. It is a grind (only if you want it to be)

So, as a new player how do avoid or get past this without going on wiki, you tube.

1. Join a clan that is new player friendly

2. Just play through the star chart and storyline, sounds easy enough but as you progress you will get stuck with a mission or boss. (Point where you give up or learn a bit more about mods/weapons/damage types)

3. Trade using warframemarket.com, takes 10min to set up. Now this is where ppl go what can I trade, I'm new. I have nothing to trade. Again, this is a point where you learn about what ppl trade by having a look at trade chat (only good for selling certain stuff) and warframe market

4. Don't get bothered by what other ppl have, they have all started where you are and if you keep playing you will have it, one day (again, warfame wasn't completed in a day)

5. If it's too much of a grind, don't bother and come back later or see point 3, trade for it.

6. Leave open world unless it is part of storyline

7. Don't be afraid to ask your clan for help or advice and use clan dojo to get things as you progress

8. There is a point in the storyline (no spoilers) where you have to get something, hopefully you have done point 3. That's all I will say.

9. You don't need Prime weapons or Warframes to progress far into the game. There are plenty of food weapons at low lvl and easy to obtain warframes. You also don't need loads of weapons or warframes, just a few good builds (see point 2)

10. Finally, Warframe is a game, it is up to you how you play it, how you develop your game, whether it is spending hours farming for something, or just running through quick missions. Some are very repetitive, some a bit boring but I haven't come across a game that has so many variables that you can do in 1 game

Enjoy and hope this helps

You learn by doing one mistake at a time. So that's validating 1+3. Also, you can only learn so few things in a single day : Warframe is meant to be played over a long period of time (and not necessary long sessions), validating 2+4. It's in the game design.
4 is about setting up your own objectives to alleviate the too much to do to make it easier with one thing at a time.

Yes ; but I don't totally agree with 1+4 and 6

I could argue about the new player friendly clan, which is always quite a unique experience, and not all clan, and not all masters helping new players, and not all the other players you meet and carry you, have the same approach of the game which may or may not go towards your own idea of fun and progression speed or set objectives. While it's nice to use a clan for researchs, and to get more informations than the diverses chats can provide, playing with veterans can also change your experience by putting you in games where you don't play the game at your level, leading to quite a disapointment on what's the game about. It's hard to hold the trigger, you know ? So as you cannot play Solo all the time of course, you have to find other noobs to tag along, instead of geared experienced players. But someone will always carry someone else in some ways.

And for open worlds ; I think they can provide much more at any level than generally thought. Between Aya for bling bling and trading or personal objectives like syndicates, loads of xp, bunch of diverses resources and endo that will always find some use, events coming along, and overall the standing progression which is taking for ever if you really want to totally clean the zone from everything including its cosmetics. And that's fun.
It's never too early to level any zone wisely following the path of standing + sacrifice for each ranks to improve your general possibilities. Zaws are fun, so are Kitguns and Moa, Amp are mandatory, Profit Taker orb is usefull, Helminth segment break the game, the Arcane world open up to you on everything you own, and you want players to be interested about grinding mods and parts to enhance their K-Drive and Necramechs and so on.
You want new players to work towards those objectives slowly ; at their speed while they try to grasp how the leveling system work, with each its own story line, details, shiny gems and weirds fishes, among other relationships between its inhabitants.
Of course, I don't say they should tryhard the zone as soon as they reach it ; but they should start going there from time to time to try to learn the ways to progress there.
