Corinth Primes Reload Animation is such a turn off compared to Corinths Reload Animation

Why DE,

I LOVED the Corinth, it was my favorite weapon in the game, for me, there was nothing better than running around with a Shotgun-Grenade-launcher, blasting enemies left and right.
But what I loved the most was the unique Reload Animation. Magazines empty? Just "Chonk Chonk Chonk Chonk Chonk" until you can blast away again.

When they released Corinth Prime and I got my hands on it, I could not believe that they changed one of the coolest aspects of the weapon... yeah it does have 4x it's magazin, but who cares, even if it stayed at a magazin of 5, you could still "Chonk" some rounds in between shots.

So my idea, either just change it back to the normal reload, but lower it's magazin to 10 and make it so it reloads 2 rounds per "Chonk", making it 5 "Chonks" like the normal variant but having still the larger magazin of the prime version.

Or make a specific Mod for Corinth Prime (Like the one for Soma Prime that Father sells) that changes the Reload Animation, reloads 4 rounds per "Chonk" but it's Reload Speed is slower, (make it +2 sec-ish) this would make you want to reload between shots, like you could with the old one.

My inner fanboy would like to throw in an additional damage boost for the mod, since you spent more time reloading, but i think that may be too much to ask.

While I'm never against the idea of augments that make weapons interesting-- I feel this one is a bit redundant.
Also, I personally like the Corinth Prime reload. It's hefty and bulky, but not unwieldy.

While the normal Corinth isn't going to output as much as the Prime on occasion?
It does have some aspects that still makes it a possible option, namely that reload you mentioned.

If anything, Corinth remains as a great example of a Prime not completely overshadowing it's original.
Something this could look into more often, as to not make as many weapons just "MR fodder".

... But that's just my two cents.

Agreed. 

Make it like this:
Exilus Augment: Tube Fed Reserves - Becomes Tube Fed, reloads 1 shell at a time, grants x15% reload speed per consecutive reload scaling per reload, + 2 Punch Through, and enemies hit by punch trough have enhanced critical hits.

That's long so word it like this: Tube Fed Components added, + 2 punch Through and enhanced critical hits on punch through.

The reloading works like this: 

  • Animation Begins: 1.2 seconds
  • First Shell: .22 seconds
  • Second Shell: .1870 seconds
  • Third Shell: .1589 seconds
  • Fourth Shell: .1351 seconds
  • Fifth Shell: .1148 seconds
  • Then have it max out at like .5 seconds, so if you reload more than 9 shells filling the 20 magazine capacity isn't an issue.

The difference is we are punished for the version we prefer. Add the augment, and it won't be a problem, if the augment is made to not be necessary.

I recently rebuilt the base corinth when having the prime, it just isn't worth it. The base fires are VERY similar, but the difference on the alt fire is a 22% status chance difference, as well as the fact the prime has more SC on base fire and higher fire rate.
