Hanzo29
Skana hmmm. NO. its not a katana, not long enough, wrong shape, no sheath. Might have been what they intended but its not what i'm asking for.

Ailith
Skana Skin. The Skana chops, a katana would slice (needing a custom move set). I would like to see a proper katana make its way into the game, as well as those new melee combos that were promised... Hanzo29
The Skana chops, a katana would slice (needing a custom move set. Correct! the sheath requires a draw animation, and i hoped it could be used for blocking too. thank you
Rajko
I like the art you've done a lot. I'm not sure how the sheath mechanism could work in the existing system, but I'd like to see it implemented.
nintega
If they add something like that in, it has to be able to compete with the Dakra Prime and the Machete Wraith. A sheath would be nice, but not necessary. What'd be really cool, is for it to have its own animation set, maybe focused more on wide-cleaving horizontal slices, since that is one of the main things holding longswords back: the animations. And have it hang off the Warframe's hip, instead of on the back, and you get +a billion to style points. Space KatANA. It's all clear to me now. That's just wonderful. Thank you for opening my eyes to that.
edryuu
I love it....and no i don't want it as a skin....a standalone weapon needs to be implement I approve of this...this needs to be in the game.... I'm not sure how the sheath mechanism could work in the existing system, but I'd like to see it implemented. One possibility is to have a draw slash as the first melee attack in the combo, it could also be added into the charge attack (sheath it and prepare for the killing blow, so to speak) and/or simply have a (somewhat) flashy flourish when putting the sword away. Or, if you want to get into the cliche, katana-wielding characters of various games and shows, parts of the combo could cause you to sheath the sword before making another attack. Because it makes sense, yes? Edited December 3, 2013 by Ailith
Archistopheles
The Skana chops, a katana would slice (needing a custom move set). *eyeroll* The Katana is a terrible sword. The only reason you and those like you are interested in it is because it's been romanticized by Anime and movies.

The only reason you and those like you are interested in it is because it's been romanticized by Anime and movies. And yet you play a game in which space ninjas do parkour, use guns, and walk around in hyper-advanced power suits that grant them supernatural abilities. The game is fantasy and, as such, can be influenced by other fantasy products and doesn't really need to make sense...it just needs to be fun. Katanas are fun. The only reason you and those like you are interested in it is because it's been romanticized by Anime and movies. *eyeroll* FACTS: 1- Katana's were used in real combat for hundreds of years, I doubt that would be so if it were a "Terrible" swords. 2- the design and curved blade made for a faster draw. 3- was built with some of the most advanced steel smithing techniques for its time, or even by today's standards for that matter. 3- yes i like Japanese culture, and many other Asian cultures as well, one of the reasons i play the game. 4- yes some of us choose things out of personal preference rather than practicality. if you're suggesting you never do the same, you're a liar! 5- its obvious your on here just to argue. well you got it. I am so sick of, the nay saying in forums. if you don't like the weapon GREAT DON'T USE IT. Edited December 3, 2013 by Rasputin29
Tomorbaatar
But Skana is a starter weapon. We deserve some stronger katana. Cronus. But in all seriousness, I don't understand the absolute fixation on the Katana that so many people have. It isn't anything special. Maybe it'd have a faster draw and 1st draw hit or something, but that just sounds gimmicky. Edited December 3, 2013 by Kataiser

The promised combo system will (hopefully) alleviate some of the monotony, but currently it's extremely dull. How to melee 101 Choose one: -Spam normal attacks (if the weapon actually crits) -Spam charge attacks (if the normal attacks are horrible) It isn't anything special. It could be, if properly made.
