Right. Sorry Noogums.

I think that gear for repairs, builds and such should be visible, kind of like the units from WH 40.000.

I am torn though. Is techs support or offense?

If offense, the Corpus title Technician is an honor title and they should wear armor and be dangerous.

If support, they should be guarded by Elites, and be a priority target due to repairing and constructing.

Thoughts?

Hmm how about something like:

Like keep the current model we have now and add some extra armor padding, like that Issac armor, which is pretty much just a jumpsuit with armor plates.

I think what Tech need isn't armor plate, but a skeleton frame to make it become a suit that any normal crewmen who wear it can become as high as tech.

Right. Sorry Noogums.

Not at all, there are some pretty awesome ideas here, but they should be started up in a thread elsewhere so they can be noticed by appropriate Devs.

I think DE should replace them with heavy robots instead. Crewmens shouldn't be fighting they arent soldiers.

Could be, but I personally think some kind of lifter exoskeleton would be cooler.

Osprey, I choose you!

I summon OSPREY in attack mode!

EDIT: I activate the ability you should have just read off the damn card but never do because anime is stupid! I gain 2000 life points shield and start glowing blue!

Techs can deploy their own shield drones when injured and carry a Supra that does good damage to you when wound-up so Techs are nothing like normal Crewmen. I would say.. working as intended.

I just meant they're just bigger crewman. I'm not saying to change their function, just the look.

Merged another new thread about Techs into the big one.

Ah, THAT'S what happened to the thread I just made.

Thanks for the merge.

But yeah, a new look would be awesome. The Dead Space idea sounds cool, but an exoskeleton might be more Corpus related.

I know, I wasn't challenging.

What's your take on the topic here?

Just curious.

-Jin

My take is that I would love to see the Techs get a badass Corpus exo-skeletal Mech-suit, and possibly a drone dispenser similar to that of the Fusion MOA's on their back. But maybe more along the lines of a rack of say 3 Drones that get launched up.

From a gameplay design standpoint, the fact that they're in a red jumpsuit, and huge, makes them very effective and easy to distinguish, but they could stand to look a bit more menacing.

I LOVE that idea! It suits the Corpus perfectly!

Yeah, the red suit is easy to pick out, but so is their size. I mean, they're HUGE!

Hmm, maybe the suit has a built in Supra, and the other arm is like a robotic claw?

Since they are also meant to be technician/engineers in the Corpus ranks, I might even go so far as to say that the Supra should be shoulder-mounted, leaving the arms to be a claw and a welder, or some other form of engie-related goodies. Could make them very effective in both ranged and melee combat, too.

I like that! One arm is a claw, the other could be the Spectra!

I love that underappriciated weapon,but that's a different topic.

But yeah, the Spectra is a welding tool, right? Perfect for this idea!

If this ever gets taken up the Corpus will finally have a really distinctive unit type.

I still think the current Techs are extremely powerful. Even a lvl 5 Tech can utterly destroy your shields, even with Redirection and Vigor maxed out.

I second the exoskeleton idea, especially if it looks like the armor from Elesium. (Though I've never seen the movie)

As cool as that looks (which is REALLY cool) I don't think it fits you Corpus honestly. Not to mention it'd be hard to distinguish them from the other Crewman. A powered exo-armoured suit could be seen very easily, pointing out the threat.

One way to make Techs unique is to make them airborne.

they stand in a mech-like unit with ospray wings.

Weapons and ospray launcher bays on back and on sides.

When you mean airborne, do you mean just hovering? Or do you mean full flight?

I ask, because the Corpus have plenty of airborne enemies.
