Azure98
Yes this is about Update 7... But it isnt about Pricing(Oh my gosh really?). Okay but seriously Update 7 the new mod system and the way they tuned everything I warmed up to it despite being horribly gimped to how my old Frame was. The new system is a cool concept but in my opinion wasnt implemented to its best. They give us the option of a reset for the people who want it and the people who dont but this update pretty much spit in the faces of the people who didnt want the reset. OH BUT YOU GOT ANOTHER INVEN SLOT AND 100 FREE PLAT. Lets be honest 100 Plat these days isnt enough to buy a lot of anything. Sure you can rush your schematics and buy a couple color palletes etc etc. But enough about my petty gripes. On to what I really wanted to rage about. I warmed up to the new mod system but the more I played the more I started to hate it some what. in the Skill Tree system you would level your frame and gain stats through it(Health, Shields, etc) by default and Mods were just a way to get some extra umph out of your frame. NOW! in this new update you are essentially FORCED TO GRIND FOR REQUIRED MODS seeing as all your stats are now static and do not have the ability to increase as you go along. Not to mention you get VERY limited "Energy" for your frames early on pretty much limiting you to 1 Mod for a pretty long time unless you have a reactor/Catalyst installed in what you want(Giving you 2 Energy per level). Which can take all the fun out of it when your stuck on the first couple planets because you have to grind up your stats to even be anywhere near good enough to expand. This can be VERY daunting to newer players and may push them away because of this new Barrier to entry. That and getting exactly the cards you want and being able to upgrade them accordingly can also add to it. In the old system because I could raise my frames stats by other means (Skill Tree) Instead of being forced to find mods I could find the playstyle I wanted (Using my mobility to dodge attacks and jumping around). But with this new system(along with the added enemy numbers and damage output) Im being forced into a playstyle I do not like but will use it if I must. this new system makes the game harder but LIMITS your choice of playstyle early on for quite a while. Now for weapons... Same issue just not as bad. All in all I do like the new system I just think it needs some fine tuning to be new player friendly and not forcing us to grind up early on. It would be VERY nice to have other ways to raise our frames stats outside of being FORCED to use mods. Cause come on Mod stands for MODIFICATION. On a side note since we have Cards now I think it would be pretty awesome to have a Trading system with cards lol. But yeah I just dont like being forced to grind for essential Mods that I wont be able to use fully for a while due to the limitations of the energy system early on. /EndRageThread
MAL1WAN
+1. Really. Health and shield bonuses in warframes should be there. Mods should be just stuff that grants you more awesome powers, not a requirement to beat stronger ones. Though this topic has been posted and discussed numerous times. xenapan
Nope. Learn to dodge and use cover. MOVE OUT OF FIRE. And whole reason for mod fusion being a logarithmic growth means theres actually a progression between new and old players. old style mods let entirely new players get level 30 mods as soon as they jumped into outer term/xini with their friend's OP as hell mag/frost frames and ult = instakill room then loot everything. It also means the second frame is never half as hard. Cause even though the mod cost grows, the power cost is linear. You can stick a level 1 or 2 shield mod in. So instead of resetting your power level every time you changed frame or weapon, you get most of that power back as soon as it sees a decent amount of use. That is once your mods are leveled. Nanbo
STOP crying noob. I am new and only playing 2 days. I have full mods on all weapons, and everything levels up better than the stupid stat tree they used before and point assigning. All you do is play and you get items. I have fusioned all my mods and have parts left over. Just play the damn game and stop crying because they took out a bad system and made it better. You sir, are why we cannot have free to play games where the community is not full of window lickers, adult babies, and straight up @$$ holes. The OP has his right to his opinion and you do too, but if you want people to take you seriously, at least try to sound intelligent.
