(PSN)naygeen
...does it actually do anything? Does anyone find it useful or have tips for using it more effectively? I'm on PS4, and I'm pretty new, but I just switched my controller layout around so I could actually use it, only to find that it doesn't seem to do much. :(
Brasten
Nope, not yet. Its supposed to some level of damage reduction on incoming damage, but its virtually non-existent. Hold onto hope that Melee 2.0 will make it worthwhile... without tones of bandaid Mods. *edit* Oh I forgot. You can dance with it or use as a commucnation tool. That's its primary use. (PSN)Hooligonzo
There's a Block button?
RoboDoge
There's a Block button? There is. But i am sure 90% of players dont know which key is bounded to it.
WERElektro
I don't use it. I don't think a lot of people do. They'll need to find a way to make blocking more interesting.
direcyphre
It doesn't block incoming damage, only reduces it. It will presumably be better suited for Melee 2.0 when everything gets buffed, but we'll see what happens when it comes to the level 35+ heavies. Chances are, we'll have more melee relates mods popping up when the time comes, as we've already got a few relating to the 'block' function. Zarlockk
I halves the incoming damage. Not very useful. I tend to kill enemys rather than block bullets. In Melee 2.0 hopefully it will be usefull
Ishki88
No such thing as a Block button. That is called "Do The Funky Chicken" button.
NevanChambers
Melee 2.0 Bullet deflection and parrying.
Rennagade
It does in fact block some incoming damage from in front of you. I rarely use it though cause by the time I knew it existed and moved it to a button that had reasonable placement I was hard set in my ways. Edit: Also has the problem of consuming all your stamina in 6 seconds or so... Edited February 14, 2014 by Rennagade
Jack_Crowley
Used to be able to block the disruption/knockdown effect of Ancient Disruptors, but that was changed a while back. Now, it's only damage reduction and slightly useful against melee attackers if you have the warframe Parry mod equipped. I am anxiously awaiting melee 2.0 due to the fact that I prefer melee combat. Unfortunately, for now, I feel like I am forced to use ranged weaponry more often due to the effectiveness they have in comparison.
[DE]Momaw
Anybody who thinks block is pointless should probably check out the Reflection mod. http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Reflection

direcyphre
How does one deflect Hit-scan bullets. Space magic, obviously.
Jack_Crowley
Anybody who thinks block is pointless should probably check out the Reflection mod. http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Reflection Reflection only ends up sending back a small portion of the damage to the enemy. High armor frames, such as Valkyr, where this would be most ideal ends up being useless. The damage reflected will end up being one or two points of damage when you have higher armor value. Thus, Reflection helps on low armor warframes, but fails hard on high armor warframes.
MEGASHAFT
Blocking would be far more useful if you could block things like scorpion attacks or ancient knockdown. People might actually use it then.
Alluka
I use blocking to cancel Soma reload halfway.
Brasten
Anybody who thinks block is pointless should probably check out the Reflection mod. http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Reflection Tried it, tried to really make it work, really wished it would work. Blocking is still pointless.
(PSN)naygeen
Looks like I've got my answer. Thanks everyone. :) I recently started using Rhino all the time so now I don't even care whether block works or not. Got my iron skin on all the time. *shrug*
(PSN)naygeen
I have that Reflection mod...I might try to make it work for when I have no ammo, but all-in-all there are many more useful mods I'd rather have equipped.
