What Does Affinity Do?

So there is almost no guide or posts explaining the basics to this game, and ive tried to google a lot of my questions and can never find the answer. What does affinity do for me since i pick up so many orbs of it. Other questions i have i see were asked in the previous posts so ill wait for those to be answered

Affinity orbs give you 100 EXP towards your equipped WarFrame, that is all. Once you get enough Experience for your WarFrame, it will Rank up, you get an extra power point (Or two if your frame is supercharged) and you get 200 Mastery points, which themselves are used for your personal Rank.
