Edit: This was actually posted a few months ago on reddit by Citizen_V but we all ignored it because the partial ticks dont show :(
So with -60% duration, we see only 2 numbers pop up. But if you watch enemy health bars, a third tick for ~4/5ths of the damage of the others DOES occur, we just cant see it.
This means that minimizing duration entirely does optimal Miasma damage.
Using the generally accepted formula of '# ticks = 1+4*Duration, we see with -65% duration we have 2.4 repeating ticks.
Now we had previously assumed this truncated, giving only 2 ticks, as only 2 ticks are displayed. But with the hidden tick actually occuring (I tested on heavies of all enemy types) we instead use the 0.4 as a partial hidden tick, and the total damage for Miasma is:
Damage/Tick = 1500/4*Duration
(1500/1.4)*2.4 = 2571.4 Damage.
A 321 damage (14.3%) bump over the 2250 done with 50% duration.
Not using the Chlora Helm, @ -60% duration, is 2437.5 damage.
So straight up, go ahead and max out Fleeting Expertise for Saryn. An extra 187.5 base damage is a ~+8.333% damage increase.
Using the Chlora Helm will increase Miasma damage by only another 5.5%. I think it's okay to stick with Hemlock to get in position faster.
Edit: This also means we can go back to using full FE+Streamline and then R2 Blind Rage, adding another 27% power strength or ~20% damage to Miasma.
New build with +57% power strength, -65% duration does 4037 damage
Old build with +30% strength and -50% duration did 2925 damage
New build has ~38% more damage to Miasma. Oh and 99 more effective health too :P
